This is an unofficial fork of the inactive "Media Player" addon.
➡ Goal: Keep Media Player alive, stable, and working for everyone.

Quick Setup Guide
➡ Windows
Works out-of-the-box.
For more services (YouTube Live, TikTok, Twitch, etc.) → use GModPatchTool / GModCEFCodecFix.
Setup Video ➡ Windows (x86-64 BETA is optional)

➡ Others
Requires x86-64 BETA branch + GModPatchTool / GModCEFCodecFix.
Setup Videos ➡ MacOS, Linux or Proton

Notes
  • Local videos cannot be played directly → upload them online first.
  • Government restrictions or VPN use may cause videos to fail.
  • Not compatible with the original addon by Sam. Please uninstall it first.
  • "Lambda Players" is working, but we don't provide support.

YES "Media Player - Extended Props" WILL WORK WITH THIS ADDON.

Known Issues
  • Some videos show black/white screen (reason unknown).
  • Not all TikTok videos work.
  • YouTube may sometimes not play due to restrictions outside our control.

@MERCY_ALL, Unfortunately, YouTube imposes certain restrictions. This is more of a generic error message, indicating that the video cannot be embedded on websites due to an unknown problem. Whether this is for monetization or age restriction reasons is unknown.

I understand your concerns, but this has nothing to do with the media player itself. The addon simply provides a neutral platform for the community — it doesn’t promote or endorse any specific website, ideology, or content.

The addon and its authors remain completely neutral. It’s a tool that allows users to play media content, nothing more. What people choose to do with it is beyond the addon’s intended purpose.

If you still believe something should be changed, please contact Facepunch Studios directly and refer to the Workshop addon and its source code. They can reach out to us th if necessary.

Do you even realize there are literal Nazis in German 1942 RP servers?
One of them could have this addon installed and possibly turn show a bitchute video to gullible people! It's a pipeline. A pipeline to a dark path.

And before you ask, yes, I do know what fascism is. It's happening in the US right now.

Please, remove BitChute support from this.

I found a peculiar bug, the Youtuber 7-ElevenZ gives me the text "Request failed: Video is age-restricted or unplayable for unknown reasons. It lets me watch the video, just not request the url to the Media Player. I have little understanding and little care. I don't care about this very much.

3daudio is cool, would be better if it had a GUI widget for the command to turn it on/off tho( or maybe it should be easier to find, if there already is one? ), kinda breaks on large mediaplayers from the extension addon, and bigger theatre builds

Could you tell me if the MKV is linked directly without a website in between? And did you also use GmodPatchTool?
