Getting Started in Zusi (English)
By Haeriphos
A short series of video tutorials that I made to help get new users to Zusi up and running. I'm not a regular content creator so the production quality is probably not what you're used to. There are some issues with my microphone so I've also added closed captioning to fill in any words that aren't clear.

Use the free program called 'Zusi Route Finder' (its in English) to find long routes, or in fact by other criteria as well such as your favourite type of train... for example i easily found a route that is 4 hours, 16 minutes long... its route number: 52413, which is in the Hamburg_Kassel folder in the file: Lehrte-Veddel_Berlinumleiter_2021_15Uhr-00Uhr, train type is a class 185

If you are looking for longer routes i can recommend in the folder hamburg kassel the time table kirchheim veddel. That is a timetable where you can drive ICE services over a span of 2 and 1/2 hours from kirchheim which is in between kassel and fulda to the veddel junction which is at the norderelbbrücken in hamburg.

Since you can create your own timetables it should be possible to create longer routes. Probably the included routes mostly stem from training and these sessions will have time limits.

Thanks for the feedback!

I do have a brief cab overview of the 442 in my first video. That should get you started on most of the similar electric units, and the ICE series is only a little different. I don't know of any other English resources that address the older diesel cabs, but sometimes I'll switch over to TSW3 to learn a different type of train and then apply that knowledge in Zusi.

As for the longer routes, I agree that they seem to be pretty short. I haven't seen many routes longer than 30 - 40 minutes.

This has been _very_ helpful for a newcomer, I can't thank you enough for this!

One thing that I think is still missing from anywhere is specific cabs overviews. They all function more or less the same, so just a general overview of the lights and gauges would be nice.

And I also have a question - are there timetables that include longer trips? It seems that while Zusi itself has longer stretches, all of the included timetables never go past ~30 minutes of drive time. Is there a web resource where you can download new ones not included with Hobby edition?
