INTRODUCTION
A lot of times you play with strangers and u cant organize a strategy with them, despite this there are some commonly respected best practices that allow everyone to have an enjoyable game.

A lost game, if played well, is not necessarily a bad game.

1) After you have done 2 consecutives gens, skip one to not trap your team at the end in a risky 3 gens situation
Every game has 7 gens and u have to repair 5 of them with your team to be able to escape by opening the gates. You dont want to be with the last 3 gens close to each other because depending on the killer you are facing it could be a pretty hard situation to escape.

A lot of people when they finish a gen just run to the closer one, most of the time always staying close to the boundaries of the map. Please do not do the newby mistake of not skipping a gen after u have done 2 close to each other.

Usually its best to not keep the main building/center map gen for last so that at the end, without it and following the above rule, the gens closer to the bondaries will be far one to the others

EXAMPLE:

If you did the middle map(1) gen and then gen 2 and 3, skip the gen 4 so that u have an easier situation at the end(you should do gen 5 or 6)
2) Chases are personal!!! (IMPORTANT)
I have seen survivors chasing the killer for 5 minutes while he was chasing another survivor because they wanted to flashlight save. PLEASE NOT. because you are wasting so much time u could have spent maybe repairing a whole gen

In my point of view you are supposed to flashlight save only if you are close to the killer when he downed someone.

Multiple people chases are acceptable only if all the 5 gens are repaired and the gates are powered
3) DO NOT OPEN THE GATES BEFORE ITS TIME TO DO SO( 99.9% them )
If after you have finished all the 5 gens somebody is in a chase far from the gate you are opening, you shouldnt open the gate fully. So that you have more time to rescue the chased survivor and you dont risk to activate Blood Warden(its a crazy common perk) in case that guy didnt make it to a gate during that chase.
4) If somebody is hooked with gates at 99.9% , do not stay close to the exit, try to save him
4.a) If somebody is hooked with the gates powered, do not stay close to the exit, 99% them and try to save him.

4.b) If the killer has noed, try to look for the totem.

4.c) If you need to heal, heal far from the gate so that the killer doesnt force u to escape.

4.d) If the killer is camping and there are more than 2 survs alive other than the hooked one. Open the gates and try to rescue him. (Exception to the rule 3 in case of camping killers)

PERSONAL OPINION: its better to risk to die trying to save a teammate than cowardly escaping
5) REPAIRING before HEALING
5.a) If you are not in a chase you are supposed to be at a gen REPAIRING(not flirting with crows and not reading a newspaper)

5.b) If you are with somebody its better to do a gen before healing

5.c) If somebody is just hooked and you have almost finished a gen, finish the gen before going for the save(especially if you are doing the gen with somebody else)

6) Do not try to escape the hook
The killer is camping? Do not try to escape the hook because while the killer is camping you the others could finish all the 5 gens.

Even if your game is finished you shouldn't drag your friends to the grave with you. If you are playing with some good players maybe someone will even be able to come trade with you on the hook
CONCLUSION
This rules are the basics and there could be perk based exceptions, for example to the rule 5 if the killer has Thanatophobia.

I decided to write this rules because this is how i play with my friends and it works for us. If you have different rules, to be honest, i dont care <3
