The "Sputnik" is really unique Deagle skin with a variety of very interesting patterns that can drastically changed the appearance of the skin! Unfortunately, there was not a lot of info on the patterns available - so I did the work of going through all 1000 patterns and categorizing them so you don't have to!

Obviously there is a large level of objectivity that must be acknowledged in regards to "tierlists" and I am not claiming that my opinion is the be-all-end-all in regards to the tier ranking - as everyone will have their own opinions and preferences. However, I have spent a ton of hours making this guide over the past few weeks and have manually inspected all 1000 patterns to break them into categories and tiers - so I have seen my fair share of "Sputnik" patterns.

To begin, I sorted through every single "Sputnik" pattern and broke them into different categories based on the patterns I saw.

For this guide, I decided that using "in-game" screenshots like I usually do - would not be the best option because the Desert Eagle "inspect" animation would mean that I would have to manually flip every picture. Instead - I decided to use CSMoney's "Wiki" page to generated png images that give a much clearer view of the pattern.

I then entered the top patterns into a spreadsheet and sorted them and grouped them into categories based on the pattern categories I found. These are the patterns that I came up with:

 

STAR TIP PATTERNS

These are the patterns that feature the biggest star on the "tip" or "nose" of the gun in varying directions and angles. There are multiple stars available in the pattern template - but these patterns only include the largest star, because the smaller stars do not look very good!

The ranking of these patterns is based on how vertically centered the star is on the tip of the slide - while remaining within the confines of the highlighted area pictured below.

These are the patterns that feature the stars on the handle of the Deagle. These patterns are usually less desirable because the stars are only visible while "inspecting" the Deagle in-game. These patterns can feature either a single, large star - or multiple stars in a tight grouping.

The ranking of these patterns is based on how centered the star/stars are within the confines of the "grip" area as pictured below.

These are the patterns that feature the stars on the rear portion of the slide that is more visible while holding the Deagle. The desirability of these patterns is greatly based on personal preference. Some players prefer to have the star closer to the "sticker position" while some prefer to have it closer to the hammer (more visible.)

The ranking of these patterns is based on how vertically centered the star/stars are on the slide - while remaining within the confines of the highlighted area pictured below.

These are the patterns that feature the top portion of Sputnik (with the spiky antennas) protruding from the tip of the Deagle - creating a unique "spiky" look!

The ranking of these patterns is based purely on player preference - as some players may prefer just the antennas poking out, while other may prefer to see more of Sputnik.

Similar to the "Spiked Tip" patterns, these patterns feature Sputnik on the tip of the Deagle. However, these patterns feature the "rounded" / "orb" shape of Sputnik instead of the "spiky" antennas.

The ranking of these patterns is based on how vertically centered Sputnik is on the tip of the Deagle - while remaining within the confines of the zone pictured below.

These are the patterns that feature Sputnik on the best "sticker position" of the Deagle (as pictured below.) Some players like these patters because it is extremely visible while holding the Deagle, and other players like them because of the possibility of interesting crafts.

The ranking of these patterns is based on how vertically and horizontally centered Sputnik is on the sticker position as highlighted in the picture below.

These are the patterns that feature Sputnik in the rear position of the grip/slide. This is an interesting, yet controversial position because while this position might look the best while inspecting the Deagle - it will not be very visibly while using it. I consider these more collector pieces than anything.

The ranking of these patterns is based on how centered Sputnik is within the confines of the "grip" area as pictured below. Please note - there are some patterns that would technically fit within this category - but may have been moved to the "Grip Position" or "Sticker Position" category instead (as they fit those categories better.)

These are the patterns that feature Sputnik on the "grip" or "handle" of the Deagle. There are many variations of this pattern, depending on the rotation and orientation of the satellite.

The ranking of these patterns is based on how centered the star/stars are within the confines of the "grip" area as pictured below.

These are the patterns that feature Sputnik on the very back of the Deagle (on the hammer assembly.) This is a very small category - but I thought they were interesting enough to include.

There really is no great way to "rank" these - so I will simply order them next to each other based on similar patterns.

The ranking of these patterns is roughly based on how much blue coverage there is.
