Unleashing the Greed Vortex

Unlocking Euria as a customer is very simple. Just have 100,000 pix on hand and visit the town square at morning or noon, and she'll essentially be invited to your store. If you wish to avoid this outcome, then don't visit the town square if you have 100,000 pix, or drop below having 100,000 pix on hand. Do note that if you haven't unlocked the Amber Garden, Euria's introductory cutscene takes priority, and will block you from that chain of events until you see Euria's cutscene, or drop below 100,000 pix.

If you are looking to put the genie back in the bottle, then I'm sorry to say that if she has been unleashed on your save file, it is too late. There is no going back. You can keep her away from your store most of the time by ensuring your store atmosphere is as plain and light as possible, but that's not a guarantee. Of course it's not all bad, as there are some benefits to having her as a customer. If your goal is to 100% the item encyclopedia, then you will want to unlock her, as she can speed the process along.
A Disruptive Customer

Euria operates considerably different from most other customers. Her main purpose is to disrupt your combo, or vacuum away your funds with her scams. She'll never buy anything, just try to sell you items at a ridiculous 500% markup.

If she decides to sell you something on her visit, she'll have a 50-50 chance of selling you treasure or decorations. Some of her wares can't be found anywhere else, or they can but the chances of finding said wares through alternative sources are pretty low. As a result, if you have the funds, she can be a great way to fill out the item encyclopedia faster. Though this is easily more done in endless mode where there is no debt to worry about.

While Euria has a customer reputation stat like everyone else, for the most part, it doesn't matter. It's only used for two things, determining what treasures she can sell you, and if you're allowed to haggle with her 3 times, which you can only do if her experience is at 50 or above.

When Euria sells you an item, these are the price points you can buy them at without driving her out of the store or being forced to haggle with her.
  • At normal prices you can safely buy her wares at 205%.
  • If prices are high, the price point will be 525%.
  • If prices are low, the price point will be at 116%.
  • If there is an item crash, the optimum price point would be at 95%.
Because of Euria's pricing mechanics, her pin price fluctuates greatly compared to most other customers, as it's quintupled in the calculations, making it much harder to nail down. Unfortunately the near pin range isn't increased to compensate, as you still have to get within 5% of the actual price value to get the near pin bonus.
  • At normal prices the pin price range is from 325% to 375%.
  • At high prices the pin price ranges from 650% to 937.5%.
  • At low prices the pin price ranges from 146.25% to 206.25%.
  • If there is an item crash, the pin price ranges from 113.75% to 168.75%.
Treasures (AKA the stuff you want.)

One of the main benefits Euria brings is that she can sell treasures that you can only get from dungeons. The chances of getting a specific treasure from her are considerably higher than trying to find it in a dungeon.

The treasures Euria will attempt to sell you depend on her reputation experience. Aside from haggling, this is the only time Euria's customer reputation matters. And while she can level up multiple times, she effectively caps out at 20 experience, as there are no further benefits to increasing her experience further, aside from being able to haggle a 3rd time at 50 experience. Or if you want some wiggle room in the cases you shoo her out of the store immediately.

All treasures within a given pool has an equal chance of being chosen. Her treasure pools are as follows:

0 to 9 experience:
  • Thankful Statue
  • Golden Pedestal
  • Pot Stand
  • Hand Lantern
  • Cat Statue
  • Picnic Basket
  • Starsand Hourglass
  • Goldfish Bowl
10 to 19 experience:
  • Golden Pedestal
  • Golden Scales
  • Cat Statue
  • Starsand Hourglass
  • Goldfish Bowl
  • Silver Photo Stand
  • Blue Teacup
  • Skull Candle
  • Silver Watch
  • Messy Scroll
20 or more experience:
  • Golden Pedestal
  • Golden Scales
  • Gold Candy
  • Hawk Statue
  • Cat Statue
  • Blue Teacup
  • Skull Candle
  • Candlestick
  • Silver Watch
  • Old Teacup
  • Glass Flower
  • Gentlecat Statue
  • Sticky Pottery
  • Old Clock
  • Raccoon Statue
  • Messy Scroll
The interesting thing to note here is that her item pools here aren't entirely straight upgrades, as there are some treasures that are exclusive to the lower reputation levels. As such, trying to get into Euria's good graces as fast as possible may not actually be the best strategy depending on what items you're after.

Do note it is possible to lower her reputation experience by simply shooing her out of the store ASAP, which can let you access the lower pools. However if you level her up again to any thresholds you plummeted past previously, there won't be a notification for such an event again.

Of her notable treasures, the Pot Stand, Hand Lantern, and Picnic Basket are exclusive to her first pool. The Silver Photo Stand is exclusive to her second pool. And the Starsand Hourglass and Goldfish Bowl cannot be sold to you once she gets to her third pool.
Decorations (AKA the stuff you don't want. Mostly.)

The other half of the time Euria comes up to Recette, she'll try to sell some decorations. Also known as the wares you don't want Euria to sell you, as those are pure scams and will delete several thousands of pix if you fall for them, or break your combo if you reject them. Only 2 of the items in this pool are exclusive to her, while the rest of them can be bought from the market at far lower prices.

Euria's customer reputation does not matter at all if she decides to sell you decorations. Her item pool here remains static no matter what.

She has a 30% chance to sell you the Ocean Wallpaper.

There is a 30% chance for her to sell you the Seabed Floor.

And finally there is a 40% chance to sell you a random item from this pool, all with an equal chance of showing up:
  • Tea-colored Floor
  • Checkered Floor
  • Heretical Floor
  • Black & White Walls
  • Eastern Wallpaper
  • Checkered Wallpaper
  • Fancy Counter
  • Heretical Carpet
This means that each of these items has a 5% chance of showing up is she decides to sell you some decorations.

Only the Ocean Wallpaper and Seabed Floor are exclusive to Euria, which have the highest chances of showing up anyways. Unfortunately, you still have to pay much higher than base prices if you want them.
Obtaining the Sea Carpet

Of course you may have noticed an item was missing from her list of wares. The Sea Carpet isn't in her item pools, so how do you get it?

As it turns out, there's a requirement you must fulfill before she even considers selling you the item.

You must ensure that your store is using both the Ocean Wallpaper and the Seabed Floor decorations (As those boost the dark and gaudy stats, this will also attract her to your store more often). Simply having them in your inventory won't work.

Euria also must decide that she will try to sell Recette a decoration if she visits. If Euria decides to sell her treasure, the Sea Carpet won't be for sale for that visit. Once she decides that she wants to pawn off a decoration for that time period, she'll have a 1 in 6 chance of deciding to sell you the Sea Carpet to finish off the set you have going. If you fail this RNG check, then she'll just operate like normal attempting to sell you a decoration from her pool. Effectively once the requirement is fulfilled, she'll have a 1 in 12 chance of selling the Sea Carpet.

Of course if you wish for her to not sell you the Sea Carpet and you're after her other decorations, then don't use that wallpaper and floor combination. Do note that doing this won't boost the chance of her selling you treasure, as that's determined before the check where she decides to sell you the Sea Carpet. Also the Sea Carpet is the least expensive decoration she can sell you, so this is a possible measure to mitigate losing pix.

Thank you! It took forever, but I finally got the Sea Carpet thanks to this.

I've edited the Recettear wiki to show what this guide says in it and will start working on adding your guides to drop rate and treasure chests as well. Please look it over and fix any oversight or subtlety that I might have missed.

Also, I find an easy way (at least for me) to get Sea Carpet is to do it at night. Empty everything from the shop and fulfill any request in the day. That way only a few customers will walk in, speeding the process of her trying to sell stuff to us. If she didn't walk in or propose to us when the night ends, instant restart.

Is it possible to look at the save file to know each and every individuals reputation experience? Thereafter, see their pool of items that can be sold to us? Thanks.

I've had this game since 2014 and I never knew the greed vortex was optional. Please take my True Adventurer's Card in the shape of a Golden Unicorn (Treasure, Precious Metal), and my eternal thanks :DSTtophat::DSTchester::LBAL_Beer:
