Navaja Knife | Scorched Pattern Guide
By fredso Gaudreau
Complete Navaja Knife | Scorched pattern guide. Opinions are my own, but I think I've made a thorough job going over and considering all possible paint seeds. This guide does not attempt to assign monetary value of any specific patterns. With all that said; let's jump into the (exciting?) world of Navaja Knife | Scorched patterns.

How I Got Into Navaja Knife Scorched
Like many fine things in life, the Navaja Knife | Scorched is an acquired taste. For me it started when I was looking for a cool budget-friendly knife to complement a desert-y looking loadout. At first I considered various Safari Mesh-knives. But they felt dull. Like they were missing something. They didn't have that edge to them. Gold Gem Case Hardeneds would fit my needs visually, but they were way too expensive.

Then it hit me. There was another path I could go down. A darker one. One that I had overlooked since the dawn of skins. The rough-looking and downright violent mess that was the Scorched finish.

Then why did I choose the Navaja of all knives? I could've gone for a bulkier knife that would've fit my new rougher persona. But I didn't want to go all the way in that direction. I wanted to be elegant. The AWPers who for years had taken their shot and then whipped out their fancy Butterfly Knife to bunnyhop their way to safety around the corner were my inspiration.

Again I found myself in a bit of a pickle. Butterfly knives are far from budget-friendly. And besides, they have those pointy edges. The roughness I didn't want too much of. What would be a smoother-looking alternative? The Navaja. In its idle animation it looks even better than the Butterfly Knife. And once you get used to it, the equip animation isn't too shabby. I had found my knife. Or maybe it found me?

I knew Factory New Scorched Knives were quite rare, so I went to CSGOFloat.com to see just how rare they were.

Twenty-eight?! Surely that was way outside my budget? Turned out it wasn't. For a little over 100€, I managed to pick up the #11 lowest float Navaja Knife | Scorched off the Steam Marketplace. Over the following weeks I fell in love. I just had to learn everything there was to learn about this mesmerizing knife. That's when I started doing research for this very guide.
Symmetry
Paint finishes on the Navaja Knife are completely symmetrical, meaning the playside and the backside look the same. No need to worry about a scuffed looking backside with these bad boys! What you see is what you get. Plain and simple.
Disclaimer
As much as I'd like for the Navaja Knife | Scorched to receive the respect and admiration it deserves, I know that's never going to happen. Us enthusiasts are few and far between. We are the exception to the rule.
To the wider community Navaja knives and knives with Scorched finishes will always be found at the bottom of the barrel. Therefore, I must urge you not to overpay a significant amount of money for any of the patterns shown in this guide. The truth is that no one really cares and they are all worth just as little as any other patterns.
Tier One Black Patterns
#1 pattern:
Paint seed: 446

Not only is the 446 the seed with the most black on the blade (that also creeps up onto the handle), but the pattern itself complements the shape of the knife really nicely.

#2 pattern:
Paint seed: 310

Almost as black as the #1 pattern, but the color is less pronounced and the pattern doesn't fit the shape of the blade as much. Still, a really, really beautiful knife.
The Other Black Patterns
Paint seeds: 300 & 284

Paint seeds: 266 & 451

Paint seeds: 453 & 456

Paint seeds: 562 & 650

Paint seeds: 657 & 746

Paint seed: 933
The Gray Blade

Paint seed: 416

If you're looking for a gray blade instead of a black one, there are quite a few options. But only one that really stands out. That is the 416 paint seed. Apart from a little black at the base of the blade, it's entirely gray.
Other Notable Patterns
These are, in my opinion, the real gems. The ones that expresses your personality the most. They capture the essence of what it means to be a Navaja Knife | Scorched-enthusiast. Every Scorched knife is unique. But not all unique knives are made the same.

Swirl Patterns

Paint seeds: 250 & 272

Arrow Pattern

Similar to the #1 black pattern, but with a smaller arrow shape.
Paint seed: 444

Patterns That Complement The Shape Of The Blade
I found the following patterns to look especially good on the Navaja Knife.

Paint seeds: 719 & 807

Paint seeds: 119 & 236

Oh, I did not know that. I'll probably go through all of them and see if I can find it. If I find it I'll get back to you with the pattern index. Thanks for commenting!
