Mod: PlayStation Button Prompts and Icons

Replaces all Xbox button prompts and button icons with PlayStation, so you don't have to relearn yet another console-specific button configuration. Support has now been added for all Languages: English, French, German, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese

7-Zip[www.7-zip.org] to unzip the mod files.

Workspace Setup

Install 7-Zip.
On your PC, create a new directory called "FF4 Button Prompts Workspace"
Unzip FF4PlaystationControllerPrompts.zip within "FF4 Button Prompts Workspace\ModFiles"
Create new directory within workspace called: "Backups"

Backing Up the Controller Image Files

Open Steam
Right-Click the Fatal Frame / Project Zero: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse menu item, and select Manage -> Browse local files
Traverse down the following directories: "[FATAL FRAME MOL]\binary\layout\btn_texture"
Select "btn_tex.kslt", Right-Click -> Copy
Navigate to the "FF4 Button Prompts Workspace\Backups" directory
Right-Click -> Paste.
Return to the game installation directory.
Traverse down the following directories: "[FATAL FRAME MOL]\binary\layout\ex_texture\option_menu_controller"
Select "option_menu_controller.kslt", Right-Click -> Copy
Navigate to the "FF4 Button Prompts Workspace\Backups" directory
Right-Click -> Paste.
Return to the game installation directory.
Depending on your language*, traverse down the following directories: "[FATAL FRAME MOL]\binary\layout\en[fr,ge,jp,sc,tc]\ex_texture\system_layout"
Select "system_layout.kslt", Right-Click -> Copy
Navigate to the "FF4 Button Prompts Workspace\Backups" directory
Right-Click -> Paste.

*en = English
*fr = French
*ge = German
*jp = Japanese
*sc = Simplified Chinese
*tc = Traditional Chinese

Modding the Game Installation

Traverse to the "FF4 Button Prompts Workspace\ModFiles" directory.
Select the "binary" folder. Right-Click -> Copy
Return to the game installation's root directory (i.e.) "FATAL FRAME MOL"
Right-Click -> Paste.
Windows should prompt you to overwrite 8 Files. Proceed to overwrite the files.
Start up your game copy in Steam to enjoy PlayStation Button Prompts in Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse!

If you notice any prompts which still appear in XBox or see any prompts that look incorrect, feel free to leave a comment!

Compatible with the following versions of the Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse:

1.0.0.2
1.0.0.3
1.0.0.4 (latest game version)

Version History

1.0 - Initial Release.
1.0.1 - Corrected minor errors in left-right stick images.

So now both Maiden of Black Water and Mask of the Lunar Eclipse have PS4 Button prompts!

Xeno, I have completed the Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water PlayStation Button Mod. It will also work on all languages, and should cover all the prompts that Jupisoft's mod missed: https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2951750868

Also, the file now replaces 8 files. So that's mostly the language ones!

Just a heads up in case you see in the instructions only 3.

Yumi, which region are you in? This mod currently only supports English. I will be creating other language regions soon. If you are playing English, then you very likely did not install the mod correctly.
