Normally if you type the password 983765 into the computer in the engine room, when you return the light of the room will turn red and the entity will pursue you.
If you type this secret password on the computer in the engine room, all the lights in the room will become blue and no longer red and you can walk freely and safely without fear.
And rest assured that the door to the poolroom will still be open

For anyone confused why this doesn't work: When Tape 2 got released, a lot of smaller things were changed or taken out - this "secret" code sadly is one of them. Originally, there was a short screen with static shortly before you first enter the lab and that had the secret code on it. Now when you try to enter that code your game will most likely softlock and you'll have to restart the level. So, no way around the entity for now, sorry!

(I know this from the dev's Discord server, by the way. They're not super-active on there but some questions are answered and there's also more (smaller) update announcements than here on Steam.)
