Cymru Marine B-001PPB Pipeline Pumping Barge

Descrição
A vehicle used either on its own or as part of a chain to form a pipeline pumping liquid between two places.

This was born out of a need for a vehicle to connect a buy and sell station that were fairly close together. It currently costs $38,127 and presuming a $0.30/s idle income will recoup its investment in just shy of 4 hours of gameplay. It does not have a drivetrain of its own and will need to be towed into position.

This barge transmits weather and information data on radio frequency 225.000 The data is as follows:
Composite Channel 1: Humidity (fog) in %
Composite Channel 2: Rain in %
Composite Channel 3: Wind Speed in knots
Composite Channel 4: Wind Direction in degrees
Composite Channel 5: Barge fuel remaining (L)

Features:
> Dual-Direction Pumping
> Automatic Deck Lights (overridable)
> At Anchor Light
> 1200m of combined hose length, 600m per winch
> Bed
> Survival equipment
> Keep Active Block
> Onboard Generator capable of running for an estimated 150min (2h 30min) between refuels
> Low physics load
> On-board adaptor to allow for connections up to the full 1200m span.

To start the generator, first open the Generator Fuel valve attached to the fuel tank in front of the cabin. Then enter the cabin and hold the Start Generator button for 1 second.

To use the adaptor, connect 1 side to a winch (hose) and extend hose to max extension. Attach adaptor to vehicle (hardpoint) or place in internal vehicle space. Drive to destination shore station. Attach other end of connector (hose) to shore station. Pump as normal.

Average pump speed: 11L/s

you should make more of these!

1. Yeah... my 100% electric plane couldn't power the motor, let alone charge the battery or fly...

2)Fair enough. And, maybe the controlls could be "synced" via radio. As you can effectivly guarentee that it's the same fluid, have a radio-controll that will toggle it to match the other barges. Of course, then if you have another line of these with a different fluid... well...
Also, just remembered, isn't there a filter? If so, you could just have a valve, and if triggered the siphon filters out, say, diesel (to a generater), jet fuel (to a jet engine based generater), and anything else is just put back into the pipeline!

3)that they are, that they are...

4) Great! And, as "over the top", the B-004PPB could be more-so, complete with VTOL capabilities...

5). Maybe the second one should function on land, the idea being that you can form chains over land. Or, maybe only the third can do that, but the second one has wheels on the docking part so you can drive it over land.

Can't wait!

Correction: Name updated from PPB-001 to B-001PPB to be in line with my naming convention and allow for future alternate versions :)

@cth2004, Thank you!

1) Unfortunately due to the low efficacy and high cost of photovoltaic cells (solar cells) in this game (thanks devs), I doubt a 100% electric setup could be utilised as the cost would become prohibitive. However, while the PPB-001 is unlikely to receive further major operational upgrades except for error fixes, the PPB-002 (a larger, more capable self-propelled barge that is currently in the works) will have some amount of solar on board and will likely only operate its generator occasionally, once power falls below a set threshold.

2) I did consider adding the option to allow the barge to siphon fuel from the line, but decided not to add it to the first version of this vehicle due to time constraints, as I built it for use in an ongoing MP career save. It may well still come to the PPB-001, and the PPB-002 will definitely have it, but it will have to be a manual switch as there is no way to detect what type of fluid is in a pipe as far as I know.

3) That will be a feature on the PPB-002, but due to the fact it would require a complete redesign (Big winches are... well, big, and HEAVY) it will not be on the PPB-001.

4) It is possible but unlikely that that will be a feature on even the PPB-002, due to the high loaad that ropes place on the game's physics engine. Never say never, though! If I ever make a PPB-003 it will be on that, as that will likely be a completely over-the-top floating base.

5) I do plan on releasing alternate variants of the PPB-001, as I have with my SB-001. Thank you very much for the ideas, and for responding!

Neat!

Here's a few ideas

1. Solar panels to allow you to run the generater at under-capacity (Or, with enough panels, 100% electric)
2. Ability to refuel the generater from the pumplines, if you are pumping fuel (so, togglable, unless there is a way to detect content?)
3. 2 more whinch's, to allow power to be shared between barges
4. 2 more whinch's, to transfer fuel between barges. Increase the max fuel capacity, and refuel at just 1 barge (Great if you have a line of 30+)
5. a few more barge desings. One of them is a giant fuel tank, or a massive solar generater. That way, you can increase the refuel duration!
