my take on a possible third fight with gabriel :

In the last layer of hell, the insatiable machine lies in a pile of corpses, Gabriel knows that after hell is cleansed the only place the machine could go is the pearly gates of heaven, it needed to be stopped here and now , and then he fights for the third time against her, not as a judge of hell and much less as an apostate of hate. For the first time in his life, he fights as himself
