Do people say your mic is hot a** in game? Do people actively ask you to stop using your microphone? Does your micspam get met with a ban? Does your audio sound like TV static from HELL? You may be suffering from "Dan induced ear bleed syndrome"! Of course it might just be that you're attempting to use a potato for a microphone but chances are, your mic isn't configured correctly!

In short, to fix your microphone you need to edit your Steam mic input volume. For some reason, the nicer your microphone the worse it sounds in Stormworks. I think this is due to mic sensitivity, with nicer mics being more sensitive and therefore generally louder.

Steps:

• Shift-tab while in game.
  
• Hit "Settings" at the bottom.
  
  
  
• Click the "In-Game Voice" tab.
  
  
• Slide the "Microphone volume" slider down a bit.
  
  
• Test in game until audio comes through relatively clearly.

You should also make sure Steam is using the correct mic while you're in there.

Now you don't sound like a nuclear blast! Go blare Fortunate Son to your hearts content.
