@Pure I think part of the appeal is seeing your favorite firearms represented by characters that pay homage to their histories and pop culture with their designs and personalities. Stuff like M16's backstory & her design paying homage to Naked Snake of MGS; HK416's blood tear tattoo and hateful relationship with M16, on top of her formerly being named HKM4 are all references to HK's defeat in a lawsuit with Colt over the former name; and SPAS-12's equipped with not only a familiar crowbar but also a Jerry Miculek speedloader, and funnily her eating habits reference the weapon's higher weight.
