The Oberth class was a Starfleet science vessel that entered service in the early 2280s and remained a vital section of the Federation's logistics and it's scientific community being vital in carrying out a multitude of experiments through its lifespan such as the notable Genesis experiment and Phase Cloaking Device

The Pegasus was a starfleet starship in service in the 2350s under the command of Captain (later Admiral) Erik Pressman, with it being a key part of the early service of notable Starfleet Officer William T. Riker, the vessel was used to carry out illegal experiments on a experimental phase cloaking device which was in direct violation of the Treaty of Algeron, however during one such test the device suffered perceived failure with a majority of the crew mutinying against Captain Pressman in order to stop the test, as Pressman and a handful of crew which included William Riker escaped the Pegasus appeared to have been destroyed.
