What your doing
This is a hard reset for your Icarus game.

Following these steps, you will lose all progress, currency, and characters.
Account prep
With the migration of account data, you need to prep your account.

Open Icarus
Click play [you might have to migrate data]
Delete all existing characters
Create 1 new Character
Start a open world (difficulty doesn't matter)
re-enter the pod and end the mission

This is to give a Clean slate and acknowledge data migration has already happened.
Where to go?
you need to go to your user folder (typically found at c:/users [your username here])

follow the network path
open AppData [may be hidden]
open Local
open Icarus
open Saved
open PlayerData
open [a bunch of numbers likely starting in 76] [this 76 number is your personal steam id number]
Edit Profile.json
open profile.json in notepad

replace the existing data with the below (EXCEPT THE USER ID, KEEP YOUR 76 NUMBER)
(REPLACE THE BOLD TEXT WITH YOUR 76 NUMBER)

{
"UserID": "REPLACEME",
"MetaResources": [
{
"MetaRow": "Credits",
"Count": 0
},
{
"MetaRow": "Exotic1",
"Count": 0
},
{
"MetaRow": "Refund",
"Count": 0
}
],
"UnlockedFlags": [],
"Talents": [

],
"NextChrSlot": 10,
"DataVersion": 2
}
Edit Metainventory.json
open Metainventory.json with notepad
it is safe to replace the contents of this file with the below:

{
"InventoryID": "MetaInventoryID_Main",
"Items": [

]
}
DONE!
In theory, you should now have a character at level 1 or zero, no unlocks and no mission completes.

good luck and stay safe out there.

If you have issues, let me know and i'll attempt to help (and update this guide)

shortcut to folder: press "win + r", insert "%localappdata%" then press Enter.

Found a workaround for a hard reset that does not have you changing any of these files.

Right click Icarus in steam, go to properties and turn steam cloud saves off.
Go to your character folder in PlayerData as mentioned in the guide above.
Delete everything.
Launch the game, make a char, exit out.
Right click properties and enable steam cloud.
Launch game and you will be greeted by a save conflict message.
Select local instead of cloud and TADA.

This works for all games that use this type of progression (Thanks Dragon Age 2). I find this way much easier and good to know as it works across the board.

An easier way:
open AppData [may be hidden]
open Local
open Icarus
remove here everything except steam_autocloud.vdf
wait until game start launching and you'll se here downloaded save from cload.
remove everything here until game not loaded into main menu.
Done

with noew game game asks create your first char, everything is ZORO.
create char, restart the game, you made a hard reset.

I know this is an old thread too, but I'm having trouble finding the profile.json file ,and the closest thing I could find is this file called ST_UMG
Any ideas?

At first I didn't delete everything else and only replaced what you had in there. After there was little change I replaced the entire file with what you had, and bing bong like I never touched it. *POP* Noice!
