"I can still remember the radiance that day."

This mod is about the visual novel, Summer Pockets, released in 2018 by VisualArts/Key. The mod includes 1 Civilization, 4 Leaders (4 heroines of Summer Pockets), 2 unique Units, 1 unique District, 2 unique Buildings, 1 unique Improvement, 3 unique Projects, 2 unique Governors, 1 unique Resource and 3 unique Scored Competitions. Requies Gathering Storm.

Introduction to Abilities
The ability of Summer Pockets civilization describes the traditions (Mountain Ritual and Sea Festival) of Torishirojima Island, where the story takes place. It provides Faith, contributing to a early Pantheon and also provides considerable Production in the early and middle stages.

Secret Base, the unique improvement of Summer Pockets, provides housing and removes movement penalties for units within 3 tiles. Town Hall, the unique Government Plaza building of Summer Pockets, can be built without adopting a goverment, awards a cheap-cost governor title, and unlocks the Capture Islamon unique project, which allows you to capture combat units of other civilizations in your territory, in tribute to the interesting islamon battles in the original game.

There is also a governor unique to Summer Pockets, Hairi, the hero of the original game. He got to the island at the beginning of the story, so he is assignable at the beginning of the game, instead of needing a governor title to be appointed. He has 4 independent promotions corresponding to the 4 heroines' routes which, to some extent, compensates the weakness of the 4 leaders while ensuring versatility.

In order to highlight the characteristics of different leaders, we designed a unique and interesting mechanism for each leader.

Kushima Kamome calls herself "the leader of Catbeard Brigade", and her strongest wish is to set sail with her friends and complete the treasure hunt again. Her unique mechanism is Scored Competitions and World Congress. Having her in the game will add 3 Scored Competitions in ancient era, classical era and medieval era respectively, with the theme of world exploration, treasure hunt and adventure. She starts the game with the Sailing and Shipbuilding technologies unlocked, and can easily take the lead in the Scored Competitions with the help of her unique naval raider unit Catbeard Pirate Ship with high movements and sight range. Before a session of World Congress begins, she can decide Resolutions of the session if she has higher Diplomatic Favor income per turn than all other players, so that the effects of the World Congress will be in her favor in the next 30 turns, and this can also lead to a easy diplomatic victory.

Sorakado Ao is the shrine maiden of Sorakodo family, who is in charge of the Mountain Ritual. Her unique mechanism is the Mountain Ritual and Shichieichou Butterfly. The Mountain Ritual is a unique project with 10 turns cooldown, providing Culture while active. When completed, it provides great scientist points, creates 3 shichieichou resources and awards a unique builder unit, Inari. After completing it 3 times, or the world enters medieval era, the unique governor who replaces Pingala, Ai, is unlocked. However, each Mountain Ritual puts a great burden on Ao: all cities' yields of all types are reduced by a percentage.

When Ao is getting weaker and weaker, Governor Ai wakes up. While having most of Pingala's abilities, she can also provide additional bonuses to shichieichou. Together with Governor Hairi, she will make every effort to save the desperate situation and awaken Ao. Then, Ao will make great strides towards the science victory.

The shichieichou resource is only visible to Ao. It only appears during the cooldown of the Mountain Ritual project and will disappear immediately when the time is up. Harvesting shichieichou resource provides a lot of Science and Culture, and Governor Ai ownes promotions to increase the harvest yields and the number of shichieichou.

As Ao might be a little difficult to play as, we have designed different debuff values according to difficulties.

Naruse Shiroha is the shrine maiden of Naruse family, who is in charge of the Sea Festival. She has the ability to prophesy the future, so when the game begins, the nearest settler will be revealed on the map. In addition, all recon units will receive +1 sight, and spies from other civilizations will find it difficult to stir up trouble in her territory. She also has the highest level of diplomatic visibility to other civilizations, which will award her units +12 combat strength bonus. Although the combat strength bonus of military units has been deducted, religious units can receive doubled religious combat strength bonus. However, powerful ability always comes with a price. She is isolated by others: all civilizations have -6 initial relationship towards her (Summer Pockets civilization excluded). She has the unique district Naruse Shrine, which receives adjacency bonus from water tiles and Harbor districts, and does not require population. She is a powerful religious leader, and even in times of crisis, Governor Hairi could be her strong support, and vice versa.

Tsumugi Wenders lives in the abandoned lighthouse on the island, where someone has encountered Spiriting Away (mysterious disappearance). She focuses on population, amenities and tourism. Her Entertainment Complex and Water Park districts can provide trade route capacities, and her cities get almost unconditional tourism bonus. But it seems that she is as happy as she looks. Her hostess once chose to escape from loneliness and confusion, leaving her to look for something to do, so the city will initially bear the Production reduction towards units and projects. Her unique building, Abandoned Lighthouse, does not provide trade route capacity and great admiral points, but provides tourism, a greatwork slot of music and great musician points and unlocks the powerful unique project Spiriting Away. When the project is finished, all large cities that meet certain conditions will immediately complete the current production at the cost of population disappearance, so a large number of wonders and even space projects can be done at a low price.

We have adapted the mod Harmony in Diversity and adjusted the corresponding data according to its context.

Mod Highlights
  • Unique Mechanisms and Gameplay
The abilities of the 4 leaders encourage 4 kinds of victories respectively. Based on this, the leaders are designed to have unique gameplay mechanism inspired by their background stories, so that they own enough identification, playability and story fit.

  • Powerful but Limited Abilities
The balance has been carefully considered so that these leaders are powerful enough but not overwhelming, and have a certain degree of competitiveness as AI without posing a great threat to human players.

  • Animated Characters
Includes some animations for the leaders, Ao and Tsugumi (enable Animated Leaders to see).

  • Fully Voiced
All diplomacy statements are fully voiced by cherry-picked audio extracted from the original game.

  • And More
Three different sets of images of leaders are prepared in the creating game screen, the loading screen and the victory screen.
    14 music segments are added.
Refer to Civilopedia if you have no idea about how to use these leaders. CAUTION: SPOILERS INCLUDED!

Hi. Is there any chance you could make a seperate mod that gives that unique abbility for every Civ in the game to pick the World Congress resolutions? Maybe if your one of the two top civs in terms of Diplomatic favor you get the chance to pick one of the resolutons.

I tried it just now.

I tried it twice, changing the value to 0.6 and then to 1.8. I'm in the Medieval Era, so the final modifier should be 1.8 and 5.4 respectively, but I got 0 and 3. This meant the value was rounded down to 0 and 1 before multiplying by the era value (x3).

So, the modifier does take float values, but it is always rounded down (becomes an integer) prior to multiplication. Therefore there is no need to input a non-integer into the modifier value.

(Not the simple yes-no answer I was expecting.)

idk, dont have its source code. But you can try that

Does the modifier take float values (ex. 0.5) or is it integers only?

Thanks for the reply!

Actually, I did that already, but turns out I needed to force the game to re-run the SP_Governors.sql file. I did that by either reloading the game from a quicksave on the turn I entered a new era or reassigning Hairi.
