Introduction
I have seen many players complaining about Grenade spam, both attackers and defenders, saying that they die more often to grenades than any other weapon and it needs to be nerfed. I myself have not run into such problems. And I realise; grenades needn't be nerfed, people simply need help reacting to such threats. This is what I plan to do.
Movement
Now, the key to avoiding grenades is to move away from them. Grenades move when they are thrown, however they don't move once they land. Keep in mind that they are still able to roll, however this shouldn't be an issue unless you're downhill from the grenade. Use this to your advantage. You are a bipedal mammal, you have legs that allow you to traverse the land around you. Of course, your legs are also replicated in game, and you can control them with your keyboard.

You may recognise the W key, and you know that it allows you to walk forward. Simple stuff, however we are going to look at the three keys below it; A, S, and D. A and D allow you to move left and right, whereas S allows you to move backwards. Use these keys to their full potential, as with these keys you can move 8 different directions. With these directions, we have more options to avoid grenades. You want to move away from the grenade whenever possible, not towards it.
Outro
This, my friends, is where we say our farewells. I have given you the basics on how to avoid grenades, and I hope this helps you in your future endeavors. If you have any questions, please ask, and don't forget to give criticism. I want to make sure this helps as many people as possible too, so please spread this around.

Well, I need to make sure people remember my words of wisdom, so something unexpected is required.

Yes, taking cover is a viable strategy when met with a grenade, however some cover can be finicky at times. The most effective cover is the terrain itself, getting behind some rocks can help immensely, however if you're unable to find a rock nearby, a sandbag fortification or wall should do nicely.

As for Numpad, W is 8, A is 4, S is 2, and D is 6.

Intresting and very helpful guide. I ment to ask you, is it possible to hide behind sandbags, walls or any other objects that could provide cover?

what about numpad

W would be forward, A would be left, S would be backward, and D would be Right.

Perhaps something we have to be aware is the natural instinct to "seek what we can't see". which I consider the main reason to not survive the frags rather than the lack of reflex.

Good guide though
