The Isle Registry CPU High Priority
By Mistato
This guide will allow you to change any game ( and The Isle EVRIMA Branch) to CPU high priority permanently without using Task Manager every boot up. This guide is for anyone that is having issues with possible FPS lag/Troubleshooting. Modifying Registry can cause issues if done wrong. I highly recommended backing up your registry before modifying anything. I did not complete any performance tests. I do not take responsibility if you decide to destroy your registry by modifying keys without the proper knowledge. DO NOT use this guide if you are not comfortable modifying your registry.

Identify the game
First we need to identify which game we want to set to high priority. There are multiple ways to do this and I will show you one way.

I will be using The Isle EVRIMA Branch as my target for this guide. There are more ways to do this but I'll be choosing the below method to retrieve the exact name

1. Start up the game you would like to set to high priority

2. Open your task manager. To do this, on your keyboard press Ctrl + Shift + Esc
( if that doesn't work use Ctrl + Alt + Delete )

3. Locate the game within the Task Manager Processes tab
  • If there is an arrow, left click arrow to drop down the processes
  • Right click the process (usually the top) and click Go to details

4. Right click the game .exe and select Open file location

5. A window folder will open locating the game .exe

6. Copy the name of the game including the .exe
  • Click once on .exe and click again a second later
  • It is very important to copy the exact name for this registry edit

I retrieved the exact name for my target Game
TheIsleClient-Win64-Shipping.exe
Accessing Registry and Exporting back up
Now that we have the name for our target game. Let's create a back up of our registry before modifying.

  • Type Regedit
  • Click OK

1(B). Use the search bar and type in Registry Editor

[/list]

The Registry Editor will be open

2. Open File > Export

3. Name your exported Registry (anything you want)
  • Take note exporting might take a few seconds or minutes depending on the computer

4. Click Save

Adding a Registry to adjust CPU Priority
At this point we have the name of our game .exe and exported registry as a back up.

Please note, Modifying the Registry can cause issues if done wrong. Please stick to the guide. I do not take any responsibility if you decide to randomly input, modify or delete your registry, that is your own doing. This is your last warning.

I'll try to keep this simple, wiith the Registry Editor window open please follow below

1. Please copy and paste the path below into the search bar and press Enter on keyboard

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options

2. Right click Image File Execution Options
  • Select New > Key

3. Rename New Key to your game .exe for example
  • The Isle will be:
TheIsleClient-Win64-Shipping.exe
Before:

After:

4. Right Click your game .exe key name
  • Select New > Key
  • Rename New Key to PerfOptions

5. Left click PerfOptions
  • Right Click right side of window pane
  • Select New > DWORD (32-Bit) Value

6. Rename New Value to CpuPriorityClass

7. Double left click CpuPriorityClass
  • Type in Value Data, 3

Your overall Registry Editor will look like the image below unless you used this guide for another game.
