my problem is that i'll be able to get through the game pretty smoothly for around 5-10 minutes, and then it'll freeze frame, loop audio for a few seconds, but then be stuck on that one frame even though i can hear that the game itself has gone back to normal (ie. i can use WASD and hear the footsteps).
i've done a bunch of launch option modifications, tried reinstalling the game, verifying files, whatever. nothing has worked.
if someone can help me, i'd really appreciate it because this has been going on for a while and i just don't know what to do.
THANKS!!!!
It can be fixed by adding "GLIBC_TUNABLES=glibc.rtld.execstack=2 %command%" to launch parameters, found that here https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Source-1-Games/issues/6982#issuecomment-2800172077
tried with add-ons and without. the result is almost the same.
the game is on SSD
tried other projects based on Half Life 1-2 - did not notice such problems with loading (although I had to turn the settings to minimum in the same Black Mesa at the moment with the battle with the Queen of Headcrabs, because the projectiles caused freezes)
checked the files. reinstalled too.
saw one old topic from 2022 on Steam (looked through Google), that some files need to be swapped, but the link to the post with the file names is broken...
