By choosing the simple way you get quick to Items, but of lower value.

Why should you do that?

Its the best way to equip a new hero fast, who cant do it the long way yet.

Just go to the editor and built a new map. 64 x 64 is enough. Now set the starting locations for all heroes just along a path and make them all passive. Please keep the distances between them long enough to not make them join a fight with the previous one.

Now add yourself a couple of titans. I use the babarian one. They can kill the heroes later fast, if your hero isnt strong enough.

Before saving add a harpye layer or sth similiar.




How to play this?

When choosing your created map, make a rightclick on the single colours of the bot players. Then change their level to the maximum possible level

After starting you can now just kill the heroes to obtain their loot and repeat over and over.

But in addition you can get loot by only damaging the layer , than quicksaving and than destoy it and the spawing boss if you desire a specific item, because now that you damaged it everytime you load the item will change.

]to get the real stuff you have to bring some time.

what do you need for this:

the set of couatle (can be obtained early in the campaign)

at least 70 mana points, 64 if you got the fey harp (can be obtained in the campaign while helping the feys)


Again we start with the editor. Again a 64x64 will do it. Now change your side to be imperial and built:

A palace level 5
granary
quartermaster
2-3 libraries
many mines of every type for you
several shops (because the prices for potions can be different)





Then set the start locations. Yours inside your base, and one bot inside a wall(neutral or belonging to the bot) Disable all remaining factions.

How to play?


start the map and change the game speed to very high (by pressing +)

now click at the libraries and let them research spell research and another one arcane research on a loop

it also makes sense to do the other researches in granary and quartermaster contributing your ressources.

after you done that make sure your computer will continue running and go out and have fun outside for several hours.

Now that you showed your muscles on the beach or had fun playing in the forrest you can come back.

Why all this time away?

the researches now gave you all spells in the game on a high level. You should be able to make your a spell "create item" minimum at level 5, better would be 6-8.

Now cast this spells:

concentration (Arcane magic)
empower (Arcane magic)
mana flow (Arcane magic) [optional]
extend (Arcane magic) [optional]
Spellforge (Alchemy)

-> to make it easier later just give them a shortcut (F1, F2, etc)

everytime you go low on mana use/buy the portions

make sure you save the game now. You should not save to a later point, so you can go back here, when you didnt get the Item you want, since the amount of Items you can spawn is limited.

after you did all of this you only need the spell "create artifact" over and over, until you get your desired set/ artifact.

I got every possible one while collecting the "gods set". Dont expect to get all in the first try.

even though it might be obvious:

After collecting a few, but not all Items of a set, you have to repeat the whole process.

Even if you freezed your heros level and can load a savegame over and over again after winning, everytime you reload your items you already collected get back to the stage of that file. This also happens if you saved the gained items in the campaign in the item stash.

If you got the resurrection ring or even better can perform the spell, you might also want to get any unit at at high level in your retinue:
