When you salvage any item, game randomly chooses what component you get from salvaging (you can only get one component) and then game determines the quantity of that component (up to 3). So for example i have green weapon, i want to salvage it and i can get randomly H4-gel x1, or arc battery x3 and etc but i'll never get argos super core from it. Salvaging purple items will get you only x1 argos super core but nothing else.
