Type 64 submachine gun is the first self-developed submachine gun in China. It was designed and finalized in 1964. The 64 type micro acoustic submachine gun is compact and easy to carry and use. Equipped with the specially designed 64 type 7.62mm micro acoustic submachine cartridge, it has good "three micro" (micro sound, micro light and micro smoke) effect and firing accuracy, and can kill and kill living targets with light protection within 200m. Type 51 7.62mm pistol cartridge can also be fired when necessary.
The gun adopts the working principle of free gun mechanism and inertial locking mode. The fixed firing pin uses the compound spring to fire the cartridge, and the butt can be folded under the gun body. The silencing device is an expansion type multi cavity muffler, mainly composed of silencing bowl, silencing cylinder, silencing cylinder cover, etc. It can carry out single or continuous firing. The fuse is located at the rear of the trigger. The dust cover has the function of marching insurance. Its mechanical sight is composed of an adjustable cylindrical collimator and a gauge with two notched illumination doors (used to aim at targets at 100m and 200m respectively).
