Since the original mod by Scrimbles no longer works / never updated, I fixed it myself.

Download it here.[drive.google.com]

Drag-and-drop the Data folder in your Freedom Planet directory.
Generally: Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Freedom Planet
Replace all files.
A Few Things
  • All gameplay related voices are still present (attack / hurt sounds, death, cyclone, etc etc.)

  • Like the original mod, some story related voiceovers are still there. The goal was if the line still appeared in Classic mode, it will also be in Adventure. Like Brevon's dialogue during gameplay in Final Dreadnought for example. This mod is for those that don't like the voice acting but still wanna play the story / watch the cutscenes.

  • If someone starts talking where they should or shouldn't (again, the goal is parity with Classic mode) feel free to yell at me and I'll fix it.

Cheers for updating the mod, my upload kept on getting deleted by Mediafire so I kinda lost interest.

I remember something about certain cutscenes crashing if certain audio wasn't being played correctly, but I forget the details. Might have to extend certain audio clips.

Sorry, man. Don't know what to tell you. Clean installs on two different PCs and I'm not experiencing any crashes. I thought maybe one of the audio files got corrupt in some weird way so I tried it on a different (much slower) PC to be safe and still no crashes in any cutscene.

Hope you still enjoy the game with or without the mod.

I played fair amount past stage 2 and didn't have any crashes or see files missing. Are you playing a Steam copy with the latest version (1.21.5 in the top right corner of the main menu) and not using an old update branch? As the game received updates, some cutscenes were removed / shortened and the mod doesn't account for those voice lines.

The only thing I can think of that's causing your game to crash. Sorry.

I just started the game with Lilac and it crashed between stage 1 and 2 as well as the scene that plays I assume before stage 2 boss, could be more but I deleted my save and plan to start again later on in classic.

I replaced all files and seem to get crashes from cutscenes, possibly from missing files when replacing the voice directory or something. I guess I'll just have to play classic mode, then.

Not quite sure what you mean. Do you want characters to only speak their first word at the start of their dialogue and have everything else muted? (Like a voice quip you'd hear in Zelda.) Or JUST the second word muted and everything else plays like normal?

Both are possible, but it would be very time consuming and tedious. Don't think it's something I'd ever get around doing.
