1) open your windows settings
2) Select system -> Sound
3) Select All Sound Devices
4) Select the Speakers/soundcard/headset you are using
5) Under the Spacial SOund activate Spacial sound/select Windowes Sonic for Headphones.
6) Close the configuration menu
7) Run Game & Enjoy

Actually, what worked for me wasn't the spatial sound, it was disabling audio enhancements.
In settings, go to system > sound
Click the pop-out for "more sound settings"
On the "playback" tab, right click your current playback device, select "properties"
Go to the "advanced" tab. At the bottom is a checkbox for "enable audio enhancements."
UNCHECK this box.
