"The title does say it all. TF2 is currently in the worst of state in terms of gameplay. Waves upon waves of bots infested the casual servers, driving many players off of the game. At the same time, community servers do thrive, but because of the influx of said players, mostly at high skill level already, along with servers being configured by their own rules, it's hard to say they're the ideal replacements. Along with that, a handful of community-made products, be it cosmetics, maps, or even very fresh and creative gamemodes made by many development teams were and are not very appreciated, or left in an unresolved state (as of writing however, two of such gamemodes, TF2 Classic and Open Fortress, reopened their downloads against nearly a year old agreement with Valve due to the latter's lack of communication). It's not hard to witness the state the game is in, and even less so to come to the conclusion that the game is not even worth it anymore after 15 years of the game being active.
However, the community, from where the majority of cosmetics, maps, gamemodes, media content (SFM projects, memes, etc.) were created, is still very lively, and is still standing its ground against the hardship one shouldn't be going through for a game that generates a good amount of profit for the developers. It continues to produce those content, as well as striving to fight against the unfair gameplay they get from the infested casual servers. The people there, they want to make a point, they want to announce that TF2 won't die this easily, and they are showing it.
My part, well, I haven't been active within the community for a long time, due to a lot of things I'm not diving into. Even so, I've been checking out the state of the game, and yeah, TF2 deserves a much better treatment from Valve. I won't be participating in the campaign that is #SaveTF2, I'll reserve the spot for those who want to bring more to the table, but, maybe consider this artwork part of it."
