Honestly I think that's what that painting quest was about, a world without fire to fear and also is it me or does the rot in ashes of ariandel look ALOT like scarlet rot both in name and in appearance? Not talking about enemies, mostly about the plants

It is my personal head cannon that the two games are in the same universe and that the Age of the Erd Tree is an age that occurs long after the age of Fire.
