Original Way to add clips! (The harder way)
Custom Clips
Clips MUST have the .mp4 extension - for best results, use the h264 codec.

  • Right click the game in your steam library, select Manage > Browse Local Files and place your mp4 clips in the RiffTraxTheGame_Data/StreamingAssets/VideoClips folder of the game's installation.

  • Create a .srt file for each custom clip, with the same filename as the clip, and place it in the RiffTraxTheGame_Data/StreamingAssets/Subtitles folder of the game's installation folder.

  • Look at any of the included srt files as an example for the formatting.
We recommend using software like AegiSub to create your srt files.

  • For the section where you want the riffs to playback, enter [Insert Riff Here] in the srt file.

You can preface a subtitle line with a name followed by a colon to denote the speaker's name in the script feature found on rifftrax.games.

For example - Man: What do you think you are doing?

Note: Remote play games will not function with custom clips unless all players have added the clips to the game - use at your own risk.
