I was frustrated not knowing the math involved in things, since this is a business simulation after all. So this is my attempt to share what I've gathered and give others a chance to share as well.

In order to make things nice for comparison, the unit of currency here is going to be 1/12th of a corpse-that's going to be defined as a single corpse unit, Corpse Units

Only including fully upgraded amounts for now since the upgrades are relatively affordable. Amount per corpse is just 12 / CU--I can make a separate table if the math gets annoying for people.

Cost Table: Meat + Fertilizer
Ingredient
CU Cost
Ground Meat
4
Sausage
4
Steaks
3
Fertilizer
2.4 (Crops are 1.25 CUs at 3 per fertilizer)

This is going to be crop cost calculated in CUs, based on Fertilizer costing 4 CUs.

If you see a decimal, 1.3, 1.6 etc. assume it's repeating.

Cost Table: Crops
Ingredient
CU Cost
Tomatoes
1.25 CUs
Potatoes
1.25 CUs
Onions
1.25 CUs
Eggs
1.25 CUs

WTF are CUs?
1 corpse = 12 CUs

It's a pretend unit I made up for easy comparison.

Naming convention is going to go like this:

  • Burger (mince-meat)
  • Sausage
  • Steak
  • Breaded (includes flour)

Just because the recipes aren't named and I'll ♥♥♥♥ up if I try to write them down by ingredients.

Recipe Name

Conclusion
That's for you to decide! If you've got enough bodies then it makes sense to make the most expensive thing you can. Otherwise you can try something in the middle.

You can also just roleplay--make what you want, make a variety. It's your game, play how you want.
Tl;Dr What should I make?
  • Breaded burgers
  • Breaded sausage
  • Steaks
  • Sausage + Steak + tomato
  • Steak with Tomato and Potato
  • Whatever comes after, I haven't made it that far

Steaks should generally be your staple if you're low on corpses since they're cheap CU wise and you get a good return. Otherwise get your vegetables running!

The meat plate is very corpse inefficient, even though it sells for a lot. So only make it if you've got the corpses to spare.

Vegetables are super, super worth it.
That's all! Post numbers in the comments if something's wrong or I need to add it
Thanks for reading!

As for the rat kebabs, the main point of this guide is to inform how you spend corpses; that's why the guide is filled with prices in corpse units.

Since rats are free, there's no decision to be made. Of course you should get the cat, and then send it off to get rats whenever you can. Because that decision is free, there's no reason to put it in a guide that's focused on how to spend limited resources.

Anyway, everyone, please make your own guides; either for this game, or for other games. There's not enough of them.

1. This was written like a week after the game out. Are you sure those new recipes weren't added in updates?
2. This guide is better than nothing; it's math I did for myself first and foremost; it supports a few different conclusions (e.g., vegetables are worth it, steaks give good return, meat plate is inefficient). Those aren't intuitive.
3. You are free to copy this guide entirely and make whatever edits you'd like to

I don't have a lot of patience for people who make pointless criticism, especially when they don't contribute themselves. I'm well aware of the flaws in my guide, and everyone using the guide is also aware of those flaws (based on the upload date).

Also: you missed like (no joke) 7 recipes with this guide. All in all, VERY shoddily written.

Should maybe mention somewhere that rat kabobs are "free" to make (once you've got the cat that is) and sell for a whopping 2.65£ with just the one ingredient. They're great filler for your pub displays

I love this.

So then Corpse Unit? That's awesome.

Thanks a lot for the guide, but I think you made a mistake with the CU cost for Crops (Tomatoes, Potatoes, Onions and Eggs).
1 Corpse makes 5 Fertilizer which you correctly calculate as 2.4 CU (12/5).
But every Fertilizer produces 3 of the Crops, so 5 x 3 = 15 Crops per Corpse.
12 / 15 = 0.8 and not 1.25 as you calculated. I think you accidently divided 15 / 12 which would be 1.25. 0.8 also makes sense because its a third of 2.4.
I took your guide and added my changes and other recipes, if you want to take a look.
But to be fair, your main points stay the same even with new values.
Thanks for inspiring me to write my first guide :-D

Yep - in endless mode you have to produce flour. Gin is still free tho.
Rainbow Sheep 11 Eyl 2022 @ 11:31
ah dang can't edit comments. there is also:
sausage & potato
steak & potato & onion
steak & tomato & onion

and then in endless mode there's all the produce independently
Magical Liopleurodon  [yaratıcı] 11 Eyl 2022 @ 11:24
Fair--I haven't played this game since it came out, for now it sounds like the conclusions aren't so different; triple meat is inefficient, vegetables are very efficient.

But endless mode costs flour now?

As for rats--I see including them from a completeness perspective, but for me the guide is all about helping you make decisions, and generally you'd use all the rats you have since like you said they're free
