[Introduction]
Welcome back to this new guide where we will explain the main differences between campaign and realism.

Most of the information will be related to the infected, and after that we will give some advice on how to survive this gamemode.

Note: Realism is a gamemode designed for more experienced players, and we recommend that you play campaign before realism.
[Core Gameplay Differences]
Before going into detail about the gamemode we will give a simple explanation on what the key differences are for realism.

We will go over them in the possible order that they will be experienced in while playing.

-There are no distant outline glows for consumables, only close
-There are no outline glows for your teammates, regardless if they are behind a wall or in line of sight
-Common and Uncommon take reduced damage based on the difficulty that it has been chosen
-Special infected remain unchanged except for one
-You will not be able to respawn in closets, the only way to revive someone is by using a defibrillator
-The witch will instakill you regardless of the difficulty chosen
-Item spawns are much rarer due to the director unless they are scripted

Note: Once the chapter is over everyone will respawn just like normal campaign.
[Common Infected Differences]
Common Infected are much tougher in realism and can withstand more bullets.

There are no other differences between the 2 gamemodes regarding the infected, they behave the same way

Now we will go over the statistics regarding how much tougher the infected are.

Note: These tests were done by me and DIbbo. We tested each weapon by shooting common infected in the body, although these statistics may not be 100% accurate because weapons deal less damage at greater distances, these tests were done in melee range of the infected.

Three damage values will be displayed for each weapon on each difficulty those being: Easy, Normal, Advanced/Expert.
Advanced and Expert values will be combined because there is no differences.

Campaign and realism have different damage reduction values for common infected.

[Witch Differences]
As stated in the introduction the Witch is the only special infected that has any differences.

But she behaves the same way as in campaign.

Now let's explain the core difference between the campaign and the realism witch.

The witch has massive damage reduction modifiers making her extremely dangerous.

Regardless of the difficulty she will instakill like a regular expert game.

The witch takes reduced damage the same way commons do.

Easy - 0.5
Normal - 0.37
Expert - 0.25

The witch does not take additional damage from headshots.

DISCLAIMER: YOU WILL DIE IF YOU TRY TO CROWN A WITCH.

We advise to run to the nearest door as fast as you can and wait for your team to take care of her since she's not able to break them in realism.

Note: It is possible to crown a witch in realism but it's only doable if she's a walking witch and you can land multiple shotgun shells to the head.
[Advice For Realism]
Let's start off by saying that you will die a lot and fast.

Here we will give some advice on how to survive realism

-Stay together at all times and avoid getting separated unless you are confident in your abilities
-Headshots are essential for most guns or you will be overwhelmed
-Your secondary is your best friend, unless it's the single pistol, yeet that stuff out of your inventory
-Melee are the 2nd best infected killer since they 1 shot any common regardless of difficulty
-Deagle is the god of weapons in realism and will take down common in 1 shot and deal great damage to specials
-Avoid sniper rifles unless your confident in your abilities, and DO NOT pick up the Awp or Scout ever
-You can stun witch with certain weapons if you know how to do it otherwise you will end up sliced into pieces
-Try to conserve your healing until you are black and white to avoid wasting resources, it's better to be slow but alive, rather than fast and dead
-You can burn and avoid getting chased by a witch if you go idle while you are throwing said molotov at her.
-The AI director is a bit more aggressive with special infected spawning than in campaign
-Instead of healing after reaching the saferoom, it's better to kill off any slow or bleeding survivors that will have to waste a medkit in the process

DISCLAIMER: ask before killing them as they might kill you back the next chapter thinking you are a troll.

Just remember that not all runs will go smoothly and you might have to restart a couple times in the process.

Note: You shouldn't direct your frustration towards Rochelle even if you hate her for the sake of the team.
[Conclusion]
Once again here we are at the end of this new guide, as always I thank Dibbo for helping me gather all the necessary info to complete this guide and provide close to correct english writing.
