The Erchius Warrior is one of two planetary bosses on an Afflicted Colony, and must be defeated in order to fight the true planetary boss: the Erchius Crystal Coordinator. The Erchius Warrior wields a Slab Ultra-Greatsword, more of a hulking piece of scrap metal than a real sword. The Erchius Warrior is designed as an introductory boss to GiC's parrying mechanics, and has many slower attacks during his first phase, and some faster ones in phase 2, as well as intentionally restricting jump height through the use of a relatively low arena. Despite his intimidating build, his damage output is incredibly low compared to later bosses, and his moveset is tiny, allowing an attentive player to very easily memorize his moveset and bait him into openings. The only attacks that need to be watched-out for is Phase 1's thrust, which does low damage but can still catch inattentive players off-guard. Phase 2 has an extremely-quick Slam-Thrust combo, only denoted by sound and quickly raising his sword, but this attack only occurs if all of his other melee attacks have been exhausted and are on cooldown.

Reminder that all GiC bosses have a 2.5x melee weakness.

The video here displays no types of builds for a player-character, with worse gear than what is provided by the planet itself. No techs, no stat-boosting armors of vanilla or modded, no RPG-Growth, just a bald man who decided he was going to stab an Erchius Warrior to death with a broken sword. A Dueller's Rapier or Soldier's Halberd are both superior options to a Broken Sword.

The Broken Sword is a common weapon found in the hands of GiC bandits, or guaranteed on the pre-boss corpses before the White Wolf of the Worlds and the Knight of Nights. It deals less damage than a Rapier, has the swing speed of a 1H sword, and has worse block power than most. It is intended to be converted into teleport markers in hand-crafting, or scrapped for iron bars in the Scrap Workbench.

The Crude Wooden Shield is a type of Buckler Shield available for 5x Timber blocks in the Munitions Workbench, but can also be found on the pre-boss corpses before the White Wolf of the Worlds and the Knight of Nights. It has no advantage over other buckler shields, nor is it any worse, but rather simply an alternative flavor with alternative sounds. It was chosen for this video as use of a tiny wooden shield costs only the user's dignity to prove a point.

Salves are a vanilla healing item that provides 50HP over 10 seconds. This is pathetic, when looking at 500hp, but the fact it heals at all cannot be questioned. Salves are easily produced early-game, and can be the difference between life and death, even towards late-game where it still holds a place for low-cost maintenance-healing. FU players however, will have a tougher time using vanilla healing due to the healing-lock FU has imposed, preventing "healing spam". GiC healing from medkits and the like is not affected by FU's Heal-Lock, although this would be a waste as medkits are not instantaneous, and healing flasks must be obtained from bosses or elite enemies.

The SPEFAK Medkits are generic medkits found everywhere in GiC, and simply assist to provide passive healing during the boss fight, as little as it may seem. They are equivalent to half of a USMIFAK's output, in half the time. However, SPEFAK Medkits do not heal medium bleeding, unlike USMIFAKs, and so must be combined with military bandages.

The Cracked Red Sun is a consumable variant of the standard Red Sun artifact, and provides the same effects. This is only ever useful if you lack the Red Sun artifact (provided by Esther) to increase your health to fight these bosses, at the cost of limiting your jumping abilities significantly. "Jumping" is not entirely valid for GiC bosses, as small arenas will negate this "advantage".

The Hero's Boots and 5x Diamonds are obtained by keeping the Battle-Buddy with an M1000 Hunter (M1 Garand Replica, purchasable at a Gun Store on Colonized Barrens) alive until the boss is defeated. This becomes nearly impossible if the boss switches phase and turns his aggro onto the battle-buddy, making it imperative to take initiative and keep the boss as far as possible from the battle-buddy. The reward will remain open, even if the battle-buddy dies after the boss is defeated.
