How to change resolution.
作者: Operator Sandwich
Resolution by default is very low at the release, as you might guess by large UI you basically have.
This affects the gameplay, since you can't see as much as you're supposed to.
I believe, most people have figured it out already, but still I feel the need to help the others in this case.

How to
Here we go, this will be a no-brainer.

1. Right click Crimsonland in Steam Library > Properties.
2. Local Files > Browse Local Files.

3. Backup the prod.xml file anywhere on a desktop, just to make sure it's fine.
4. We need prod.xml to be edited here, it's a configuration file.
You basically choose - Open with > Notepad.

5. I believe you can edit in in several ways, but the easiest is what I've used.
Put the desired resolution in a line:
reference_resolution="your_resolution"
Here's the list, just pick one: 1920x1080,1680x1050,1366x768,1360x768,1280x768,1280x800,1280x720,1024x768,1024x600,960x600,800x600,640x480
Then fix the line:
resolutions="your_resolution"

Save it, and you're done.
6. Start the game, and you should notice right away that resolution has changed.
7. Proft.

Good luck

For people like Devz wondering, what this guide is for, let me detail it a bit.
In short you can check some of my screenshots and compare the FOV (Field Of View) on some of the pictures.
By changing the reference resolution to your native res. you're constantly seeing the entire board instead of the zoomed in view.
This method renders Eagle Eye useless, since it doesn't zoom out quite as much.

On another note: It's made this way by intention. You ARE supposed to have a limited FOV, to limit your abilities of surviving :)
I recently "discussed" this with Temper (Developer) and he agreed that changing the FOV is "cheating", at least a little bit.. :)

Without it, you're still more than capable of getting more than decent scores :)

no-brainer?
Why not goto Extras Menu -> Display Options
I get supported resolutions go upto 2560x1600

Oh yeah, disabled in SP perks are truly a mess, and I still have no clue as to why they've made that decision.
Basically I regret supporting this version.

Yeah I wish they'd support it more. Especially fixing that design blunder of disabling perks in quests by default.

I know how to manually enable them and of course I do but I think they didn't understand why their game was successful to begin with. And the power ramping up from perks in long missions was a big part of it.

Nothing like starting weak and barely surviving until you're so perked out that you destroy everything that even looks at you.

That is true, but the guide is here for the past year and devs didn't do crap to fix it. Which is basically 1 minor tweak in the game.

I see that.

What I'm agreeing with is that by expanding the resolution (and consequently the FoV), you'll be cheating. It's like the Eagle Eye perk for free.

ffs. I understand what he is talking about, but he doesn't get where the problem lies.
Field of view here depends on resolution which is a problem of developers who didn't lock it down without depending on resolution.
Resolution makes everything blurry and ugly when it's different from native for your monitor.

Whelp.... White Spirit is right. But I don't think Ulris is understanding him.
