A Brief, Brief Guide
By Tystefy
Get Stuffed! is a complex- but not complicated- game. There are many ways a match can go with all the roles and mechanics. This guide will explain some bare essentials to get you started.

The only tips you really need to know:
--- At least read the following five tips ==

- At any point in a match, you can press "F1" to see your role, your abilities, and tips about how to play.

- "G" is your emote wheel... in case you don't want to use a mic or text chat.

- Holding down "V" lets you look behind yourself.

- You can press "Tab" to see your score, see all players, selectively mute players, and read the tooltips on your buffs/debuffs (the small circle icons on your hud) by mousing your cursor over them.

- Read the codex in the main menu. It is brief yet has details and tips about how to get started with Get Stuffed! Within the codex you'll find info about all the roles and killers. There's even some snippets of short yet humorous lore, should it interest you.

- There is no better way to learn the game than to play some rounds. There is also a training mode where you can swap between all the roles- Killers, victims, and antagonists alike.

== Other Tips ==

- I highly recommend halving the audio volume for "Voices". It is for the in-game characters, most particularly whenever they get injured. It can be audibly overwhelming if you get involved in a brawl... all you'll hear is "ouch" x6 at full volume. Do yourself a favor.

- You start the match with a free perk purchase. Locate the nearest shop and get your free perk. Make sure to read whatever you're consenting to have done to your mortal shell!

- After dying, you can influence the match as a spectator. You will slowly accumulate "spirit energy" which you can spend on either your ghost abilities or map-specific "projects".
Use "Q" and "E" to swap camera modes, and left click / right click to swap between players.
Fly around your camera to explore the map and be on the lookout for floating red spheres.
The project could be as simple as boarding up a window or spawning a random present for living players at the cost of 25 spirit energy... or it could be something like "revive all dead players as an axe murderer" for a whopping 800. Any energy you put into a project is saved, and all dead players can contribute to the same project.
The most interesting projects tend to congregate at either a central point or at an interesting landmark in the current map.
"Victims"
You're still here? And you haven't booted up the game to read the codex yet?? Bruh.

Well... here's some starting points for what your role should be doing. It is in no way definitive, so play how you want.

P.S. Ideally, you should stick together. But where's the fun in that?

All Victims at Round Start
- Have a crowbar as their default weapon. Your Right-click ability knocks away any player you hit (including killers). It has a cooldown, so use it wisely- and don't miss!

- Have a class ability. Press "E" to use it.

- Can hold up to 2 weapons. Swap between them with "Q".

- Have a free perk point. Go to any shop and purchase 1 of 4 randomly selected perks.

- Are able to build an "AGM" on a construction node. It slows the killer down and prevents them from using movement abilities within a rather comfortable radius. It is quite sturdy and might buy you some precious seconds.

- Can hold one consumable item. Press "3" to swap to it.

Runner
What you do: Run.
Although you have just as much sprint as the rest of the victims, you have the ability to launch yourself in whichever direction you're looking. Try to aim slightly up to get more air-time.

Your team will have plenty of Runners as it is the most common role.

What you should be doing: objectives. As a Runner, you find slightly more scrap whenever you search containers. This means you'll net more scrap in the long run if you search multiple smaller containers. Despite this bonus, the other victim roles are a bit busy with other matters, so you should try to focus on the objectives marked around the map.

If you come across a Medic, you can drop them some of your scrap with "Z". They need a lot of scrap, so consider it your medical bill.

What to spend scrap on: As a Runner, you can purchase some nice weapons at any shop. I recommend the baseball bat. Otherwise, Runners should build AGMs due to the Engineers and Medics having other projects to spend their scrap on.

Engineer
What you do: Eng.
You have an ability that applies a defensive buff to both yourself and the players around you. In addition, you automatically spawn a free energy drink every time you get a certain amount of points (as of this guide, the score threshold is 75). The drink spawns right next to you and not in your inventory.

There are only a couple Engineers, if not just one.

What you should be doing: collect scrap. You can build a Scrap Generator on construction nodes. This generator slowly gives scrap to your entire team regardless of distance. Try to hide these in places the killer is unlikely to visit, like near already completed objectives. You are also able to build a 2-way teleporter on two separate nodes of your choice.

Once you've secured some scrap generators, consider buddying up with someone. Your class ability is most useful in groups!

Medic
What you do: Med.
You are the only role that has a free heal ability. Use it and it will heal anyone in a small radius. It recharges at a comfortable rate.

There are only a couple of medics, if not just one.

What you should be doing: collect scrap. Sure, you could run around looking for players in need of healing... but why not have them come to you (just like the modern world)? You can build a medical building that heals anyone who uses it. It will be marked on the map for your team. Try to hide these in places the killer probably wouldn't visit. You should always build at least 1 of these constructions as they can remove extremely harmful debuffs from members of your team.

After securing one or two medical buildings, your next goal is to accumulate an ungodly amount of scrap to build the Cloning Machine! This baby will revive all dead players (victims and antagonists). Chances are that more than half your team will be dead by the time you get all the scrap required, so get going!

Alternatively, you could buy your class-specific "Grave Shovel" at shops. It is the considerably cheaper option but requires you to have achieved a score threshold. This weapon allows you to revive players at their tombstone (the spot they died). Whether you feel like running all over the map to do so is up to you.

== "New" Roles ==

Priest
What you do: Pri.
You can cure the status effects of players around you and build shrines that grow in power. You can also buy a holy symbol from the shop. The symbol's strength is situational depending on the map.

There is typically between 0 - 1 priests.

What you should be doing: collect scrap and build shrines. You can build three different shrines: Blinken, Tuff, and Speedum.

All players (except killers) can be blessed by a shrine by walking up to it and pressing "E"

Tuff gives a 5% defense buff for every Tuff Shrine build up to three. So if three Tuff Shrines exist anywhere on the map, the buff is 15%.

Speedum gives a 10% speedboost, and stacks upwards of three times just like Tuff for a maximum of 30%.

Blinken shrines work differently. They do not scale with amount. Instead, a Blinken shrine blinds any killer or antagonist (in monster form) that look at it. Think of it as an AGM 2.0.

Ninja
What you do: Nin.
You are the sneaky! You can turn yourself invisible with your class ability for a short time and can buy a very powerful katana from shops. You can also build jump-pads and smoke generators that camouflage any player that enters it.

There is typically 0 - 1 ninjas.

What you should be doing: Ninja is the Victim teams best offensive class thanks to their katana. Build some smoke generators to help your team first, then consider going for the evil guys.

Pirate
What you do: Pir.
Ahoy, you are on the search for buried treasure!

There is typically 0 - 1 pirates.

What you should be doing: Use your class ability to locate buried treasure (follow the red dotted line) and unearth it for riches! Treasure can include a huge sum of scrap, 'powerful' weapons (like the Grave Shovel), or Doubloons which are a new currency you can spend in shops for unique perks.

You can also buy a strong flintlock / cutlass weapon. It is currently the fastest attacking weapon.
"Killers"
Pretty self-explanatory. Give each of them a chance! Keep in mind that some killers do better or worse depending on the map (tight corridors vs wide open spaces). You'll never know unless you try.

It is very difficult to kill you- or if you can be killed, it is due to a gimmick (like with the Painting, where you take damage whenever a player looks at you). Unlike all the other plebeian players, you respawn very quickly.

Victims have the best chance of surviving against you if they run. Whenever they do run (or jump), you'll see red pings on the map.

The odds are stacked in your favor. It is your time to shine- but why rush things? Play with your food... but don't let the victims ever think you're friendly.
"Antagonists"
It is never as simple as Victims vs Killers... or, uh, I guess it is in many movies and games? Not with Get Stuffed!, though!

Antagonists are victims who have had enough. They are not Killers- rather, they pretend to be on the Victim team. All of them have different objectives. You will be able to see which players are part of your antagonist team denoted by a green "Ally" above their head.

There can be more than one antagonist variant at a time. You can have cultists trying to summon their devourer god while zombies try to infect everyone. You can have a Hitman and an Ax Murderer duking it out Final Destination style. It is not uncommon for the Antagonists to wipe out / convert all the victims... and then kill the Killer to win. Yes, it's real. Yes, it's chaotic. Yes, it is awesome.

Antagonists only appear when there's 7+ players in a match. For actual info about each antagonist, read the codex for brief summaries.

ALL players will be informed when an antagonist is about to win (except Zombies). Most antagonists will be marked for all players (wall-hacks). You will get no such warning with Zombies, and Cultists will not be marked. Survive until you can complete your objective!
How to Heal
So you found yourself in a bad situation and took some damage. Getting healed can range from EZ to pretty difficult depending on your circumstances.

What you should try first:
- Find a Medic, or locate one of their medical buildings.
- Appeal to the dead players for a heal. Every ghost should have the ability, of which does not cost much spirit energy.

Should the above fail you, try the following:
- Buy "Hot Cocoa" from any shop. It will give you a short regenerative buff. Hot Cocoa heals much more than other consumables.
- Consider the "Narcolepsy" perk. Sure, randomly falling asleep sounds terrible- but it only lasts a couple seconds and you heal a massive amount in exchange!
