For me the error came from "Windows_Error_0xc000007b" which indicates some missing dll files. There is an "ultimate fix" guide from reddit which ended up helping me.

By copying the required dll's into the games main folder, it booted fine. Worked on a broadwell E 6900x and nvidia 3080 on windows 10. No need for compatibility fixes.
