Possible FIX for SOME Users - Game not launching
The game has some serious issues for some users.

After a while, I've managed to run the game on both ATI and Nvidia pcs, where prior to
that I could not.

1) Make sure Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is set to first option.
2) If you don't have an Xbox controller, UNPLUG IT ; play with the keyb. Also unplug anything
from the USBs but the neccesary.
3) Uninstall ALL Microsft Visual C++ redist from control panel. All of them.
4) On steam, go to the game, right click, properties , local file and browse local files.
5) From the _CommonRedist dir, install directX
6) From the _CommonRedist dir, install vcredist. If your windows is 64bits, INSTALL BOTH

Steam install scripts do not work well for this game; I did not have VC++ 2012 redist and the installation did not installed it. Possibly due to some problems if you have VC++ 2010 installed already ; had this problem before with Visual Studio Install.

I learned also that even I have 64 bits , I needed both x86 and x64 VC++ installed, (thanks devs for some hard coded dll refs).

Also, the directX is the whole Dev API dist, not just the runtime redist.

To anyone having issues in 2024, you can try installing Visual C++ Redistributable for x86 2013.
Worked for me atleast.

I managed to launch the game by doing this:
1) closie steam and the game
2) start the launcher.exe directly from the folder
3) steam identification pops up, enter id/password
4) launcher opens, click play and it should work
I didn't even have to unplug my usb ports or anything. At least I can play

i was having a problem with the launcher but only managed to fix it by plugging in a wired xbox controller (wasnt even a genuine one just an afterglow)

The first thing that I did this morning wass unplug my usb controller and launceh the game and the game launched. Thanks for the help.
