A TIP: How to play in Windowed Mode

1. Find your DWU folder, like: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Distant Worlds Universe\

2. a file named "Startup.ini" under DWU folder, click to open it, you will find some text like below:

'Distant Worlds startup settings

'screenwidth 1024
'screenheight 768
'hyperdrivespeed 1.6

3. Delete the ' in front of screenwidth & screenheight, then edit as your wish
eg:

'Distant Worlds startup settings

screenwidth 1280
screenheight 720
'hyperdrivespeed 1.6

4. Save the file and close it, then start game and enjoy!

btw, I know game's fonts are small, so in windowed mode , u can open the Magnify tool in windows 7 to help you see some information clearly.

Be aware of the fact, that when playing in windowed mode and building stations manually e.g. space port @prewarp start, you may have a slight offset from mouse curser to actual building position.

Usually the game starts in a Fullscreen Borderless Window anyway.
