Then create a folder "Mods" in the game directory



Open the FCAM - installer of the mod, and after installation, select the path of the newly created folder (open the Mods folder and in the path bar, click and copy, then paste into the installation path)



Next, we install and while waiting for the end of the installation, we move the file "z-mags.pak" to the "FCData" folder, and "system. cfg" to the folder with the game with replacement

We are waiting until the mod is installed and the installer closes, it will not show that everything is ready on its own, it will only change the labels

It is better to replace the icon that the FCAM installer creates with a shortcut from the mod folder, that is, along the path FarCry\Mods\FCAM\FCAM.exe or just run from there, in general, we run:



Here is the good old Far Cry with new graphics (to start, twist the sliders and unscrew everything to the maximum ;3). I have described the installation of the graphic mod here, and in the next section more about how to change Far Cry to make it more enjoyable to play

I don't know about you, but I want to capture some moments of the game, and if you play FCAM, you won't get any screenshot by F12, since there is no steam overlay (a function that takes a screenshot in steam games), the game has a button in the functions for creating a screenshot, but I didn't find where these screenshots are saved or whether they are made at all

*Specifically, I didn't want to go into details when multiple queries in Google and Yandex, which are not given answers. If you have found the way of screenshots that the game makes, then you should not write to me with a reproach, I will be a little ashamed

Since even the screenshot program does not launch a working window in the game itself, there is only one thing left - to launch the game in steam. Post as a mod for a steam game and cough up $100 in support of this best online game store? Yes, somehow it's not worth it, there is a way for $100 cheaper:

Open your library and click on "Add a game" in the lower left corner, then select the item with the addition of a Non-Steam game



Then click "Browse" and select the path to FCAM.exe which is located in the Mods folder and select "ADD SELECTED PROGRAM"

Now if you play FCAM through the library, you will be able to take screenshots and upload them to steam accordingly, but alas not to the Far Cry community. If you do not want such a label, you can change the name of the mod launch file. Of course, this will change the name of the third-party game that you are playing, but it may somehow affect the work of commands and scripts when they refer to exactly FCAM.exe. This is not accurate and there were no obvious problems during the game



So you have two ways:

• Change your mode in the friends system to Invisible or Offline
  
  
  
  
• Open Far Cry after starting FCAM, the new game will kill the old running game (You can also run Far Cry in SAM to save your PC resources)

Still, good screenshots are impossible if there is something superfluous on the screen, for example, a HUD. HUD-health bars, sight, weapon icons, and so on, which is always in front of your eyes, except for the weapon models themselves

Do you want to remove the hood? Or something else? Classically, open the console on "~" and enter the command. The console supports the tab option, that is, iterating through commands, enter the beginning of the command and clicking on TAB, wait until you reach the desired command, if you are not sure of the truth of your writing

When the hood is turned off, you can achieve complete cleanliness of the screen for screenshots, for this you should also click on aiming through weapons or binoculars. I was specifically convinced on a sniper rifle and here is a screenshot

I entered hud, pressed Tab, and here is a list of commands with the beginning of hud in front of me:

• hud_crosshair - removes the sight in the middle of the screen

There are enough console commands in the game, but I can't describe everything. Of course, if you are completely interested in screenshots and the true gameplay is not interesting to you, then when you start FCAM, choose DevMode, which has the functions of flying and hiding all the HUD, and you can also load any location in it



New features are provided in the developer mode:

F1 - Switching to a third person and vice versa
F2-F3 - Moving away or approaching the camera in the third person
F4-F5 - Flight mode, press the F5 button flight mode with passing through walls
F6 - Screenshot mode, where everything is hidden and only the screen in front of you is visible, also in this mode no one attacks you

There are also other buttons for the game, by pressing N or M, you get ammo up to 999 for weapons. Surely there are still buttons that do something, but I don't want to press again and again

This is the end of this section, I just remember that you may lose your saves and the solution to this problem is DevMode with loading to the desired location and continuing to play

Consider it the launch of the game, right before the game itself already. Just adjust the graphics and control, so as not to be distracted from the process once again. What we are doing:

• Create your own profile, by default you will have default profiles

• Open the next tab and set your screen resolution, check the boxes on the right, you can also pull the sliders for brightness, gamma and contrast
  
  
  
  
• In the same tab, open the "Advanced settings" and there you unscrew everything to the maximum, poke "Very high" from above and just in case, check whether the maximum settings have been selected exactly
  
  
  
  
• We go back and see that the Render Mode tab has become available to us, in the lower right part. This can be called filters for the game, look at the possible ones and find a suitable one for yourself
  
  
  
  Here I noticed for myself "Cartoon", which can be revealed as a cartoon or something like that. He makes the game somehow different, which made him the favorite and the final choice for the game. With him, I somehow realized that the types of islands are slightly similar to Borderlands

Acceleration is not needed, in short, it will move slower in height, and inverting - changing the direction of mouse movement to the opposite. Well, and also the keyboard settings. I told you about the graphic mod, the solution of possible errors (which are hidden between the steps in different sections), the console and console commands, and the developer mode (DevMode), which allows you to take screenshots the way you want. It seems that everything is true, the next section will already be about mods that change your Far Cry or add something that really does not converge with the classic game

Not surprisingly, Far Cry has modders. There are also story mods, there are just maps, there are new weapons, transports, and even a NudePatch for the girl with whom our main character spent time!

Now I strongly recommend that you make a backup of your game, in terms of copying the game folder, so that if something happens, you can return everything back, because we all know one mod is good, two mods are brain crash
