step one - purchase and install
purchase the game and install. do not run yet, just have it installed.
step two - downloading the file
head to this website ( https://filehippo.com/download_microsoft_games_for_windows/ ) and download games for windows live.


(copying the link and pasting it into your browser works best)

open the .zip file and double click "gfwlsetup" and extract all.

this will open a new files tab, click the same "gfwlsetup" and it will automatically install.


launch the software. it will prompt you to sign in but this is not necessary.
step 3 - complete
and you're done! close GFWL, start up fallout 3 through steam, and youre ready to start exploring the capitol wasteland.

i just used the way Mr. Silvey used and im not sure if my laptop has a intel cpu as its from lenovo and it worked. Mr. Silvey, if you are reading this thank you

Gfwl is god awful, just put the dll into the game directory instead
