Introduction
I was able to figure out how to play this on my Xbox controller! I find it much easier to play with on a controller and more efficient since I don't have to move my whole hand to select recipes with my mouse or try to use my weaker fingers (ring and pinky) to try to select recipes.

I haven't tried this with any other controllers like PS4 or Nintendo Switch controllers, but I imagine it's the same process to configure them so you should be able to adapt this guide to your controllers flawlessly.

My control settings are not absolute of course and you're free to change the binds to whatever you're most comfortable with. You may just need to do some experimenting first to see what keys bind to what buttons.
Turn on controller through game properties
Find Lemon Cake in the library and right click on the game.
When the drop down menu pops up, click on properties.

When a window pops up, click on the controller tab. Click on Controller General Settings.

A blue window will pop up. Check the box that says Xbox Configuration Support (or whatever type your controller is).

In-game Keyboard Binds
In-game keybinds remain the same, you don't have to touch a single thing here :)

Controller Configuration
Go back to the game in your library and click on Controller Configuration.

Here you'll see your controller and the default configuration.

Lets change the binding on the button pad on the right for example. If you click on the box on the bottom right, you'll see a close up of the button pad.

From here you can click what keyboard key you want your buttons set to. For example, click on the rightmost button, change the name from the default button to Recipe 1. Renaming your buttons isn't necessary, but I highly recommend doing so because it makes rebinding your buttons a lot easier to manage.

Then on the on-screen keyboard click the number 1 on the horizontal row on the top that you would normally click in game. Now your button is bound to key 1 in game. To check if you did it correctly, go back to the main screen with the controller. It should be now named to Recipe 1 (1). That's the name of the button with the key you bound it to.

You can do this for the rest of your buttons.

Below is what I recommend and have set for mine.

The left joystick is set to the default WASD controls and I didn't change them. The start button was set to the default (esc) button for accessing the pause menu. The right joystick was left alone for moving around the mouse and selecting things in the menus.

I removed the binds for the d-pad and select buttons because they serve no purpose to me. If you want to remove binds, click on the button you want to remove it for, and on the screen with the keyboard there should be a "remove" button in the bottom.
Conclusion
Again, my control settings are not absolute and you're free to change the binds to whatever you're most comfortable with.

Please do let me know in the comments if you were able to improve on this configuration, have any tips, or find out how to bind recipes 5 and 6.

Until then, happy baking everyone!

Hi! Thank u, this was helpful for me.
I used my bumpers as 1 & 2. I put my most used recipes there. For 3, 4, 5 and 6, I used my d-pad. U can see it when u press on browse configs on the buttom of the controller config. screen. :3
