Thank you so much for this.

With my luck I found this when I just finished the game! I was too busy looking for an Ultrasound set up (couldn't get that working, sadly...)
I did give it a quick try anyways and the graphics are significantly smoother, so much easier to play!
I saved the settings, for the next time I play through (because it is going to happen, most definitely :))

Thank you so much for this. I was using Dark XL until I implemented your fix for the original steam Dosbox version. Look Dark XL looks great but its far from complete and Im unsure if it will ever get finished, hope the creator is ok cause he went silent. Also XL has a lot of bugs and glitches like Nar Shadda crash....oh and cinematics have glitches like no music and for a first time player of the game like myself it is really not ideal for a first playthrough. So thank you for this at least now I can experience the game as it was truly meant to be. Thank you thank you again!

@tazamiga - It sounds like you may be having the same issue with dosbox as I had with all my old ddraw-needy applications. This post regarding Win8/8.1 fps caps [www.blitzbasic.com] while in full screen helped solve that problem. The 2nd option is what I used. The modified ddraw.dll is basically just dropped into the folder of the application in question. I now have 60fps in fullscreen for games/apps like Kega Fusion, Blasterball 2, Bookworm, and a few others.

DISCLAIMER: I have not yet attempted playing any dosbox games, but your comment caught my eye because it looked like a problem I was having for ages. If modifying the .conf file as the op demonstrates somehow creates a ddraw.dll file in the folder, I do not recommend replacing it with the one I linked you to.
