/tele acc

There is a delay up to 180 seconds to teleport to a new location. There is also a 300 second cool-down between teleportation requests. Note that these times and the current teleport network have been carefully chosen in order to reduce the "hackability" of the system. There are a large number of hacks or exploits that abuse the teleport plugins, and we have found that these limits allow for the best user experience without removal of the teleportation system.

Below is a map of our teleport network which is in-line with the /tele list command:

NOTE: PVP areas listed do not exist any more.
Rules
Chat Command _______________
Description ___________________________________________________________________________
/rules
Displays the servers rules

Lewy Land Server Rules:
No griefing! Griefing includes but is not limited to:
  • Blocking resource boxes/red animals
  • Blocking, trapping, or any other action meant to make someone’s structures unusable
  • PVP Griefing: see below

PVP Griefing: Harassing someone to PVP consistently is considered Griefing and will be dealt with. If someone doesn’t want to PVP, leave them alone!

Chat: We do not have age restrictions on the server; there are children playing, and those that don’t want to see constant vulgarities in chat. We have a chat filter; do not try to work around it. Also, try to keep any sexual innuendo to a minimum.

We are an English speaking server. You will be asked politely once to speak English. If you do not comply, you will be removed.

ANY racism, intolerance towards anyone, or anything else that is considered hate speech will be treated with swift action! We have a zero tolerance policy for the narrow minded…..

Admins and official representatives: These folks run and maintain the server at no required cost to the players; they do it because they enjoy it…. Please treat each of them with respect. If an admin or the Community Manager asks you to do something, or stop doing something, please abide. We are not strict, and will never tell anyone to do something sketchy. There is a reason behind everything we do.

Disputes: This being a community driven server we expect disputes to be handled quickly, and peacefully. Any arguments that the staff has to get involved with could result in disciplinary actions if deemed appropriate. If you would like a mediator the staff will assist when available. Contact the Community Manager first, if it needs to be escalated, it will be.

Raiding: We run a no raid server, meaning buildings, and deployed objects are not subject to damage by other players…. It is the player’s responsibility to secure their own structures. This means no open ceilings or windows.

Trading/Bartering/Storefronts: One of the goals of the server is to promote and establish an open market in the community. Until an official process is determined and implemented, all trades between players are considered final. There will be no admin interference with trades gone wrong as it is almost impossible to investigate thoroughly. Trade at your own risk. In time we may have an official “Quartermaster” to facilitate this easier.
Building Restrictions
In an effort to keep the server user friendly and reduce lag in high traffic areas we have instituted a minor building restriction:

Structure height is limited to 6 floors around high traffic areas, e.g. Radtowns, Hangar, Tanks, etc..

Establishing boundaries is near impossible so use common sense. If in doubt ask an admin or Community Manager.

If you want to build tall, please limit it to more remote areas.

Buildings blatantly violating this policy are subject to removal, but we will do our best to give players a chance to do it themselves.

cont. finish

Basically, most (not all) of the people on our server do not want a challenge, they just want to build. It's turned into a different form of Minecraft without the survival aspect. Possibly in the future we will change the goal of the server, but we arekind of locked into what it is now without loosing players.

cont.

Beggers: I have not gotten a single report of beggers, this is something Arvie, myself, or Kev need to hear about. If it is persistant, we will step in, but overall we can't control what people do.

admin chat spam: Considering slowing it down, but too many times people say they didn't know this or that, this was our way to resolve this excuse. Now that we have a decent (not huge, but decent) player base we can probably lessen that

This is a PVE server, PVE servers of any kind are rediculously easy, I can go on ANY PVE server and have a 4*4 two story within an hour, guns and some armor as well. The low population of players makes it even easier with no competition for loot. We have, and continue to bring people in, the more players, the harder it would get.

Screwy Lewy  [author] 19 May, 2014 @ 11:42pm
All of the items you lists are valid Jolly, but we have tweaked and adjusted everything you mentioned several times due to the community feedback, but I will go into some detail...

day/night cycle: Honestly, I prefer a 40/60 split, we tried that and had constant complaining about nights being too long...

Air Drops: We have it set to a progressive number, the more people on, the more drops. The game randomly drops when it wants to within this number... Say there are enough people on for three drops per hour... They could all happen within the entire day period. I think it may be too generous but this is the first I have heard about it in a negative way.

Too many buildings on roads: We do not regulate where people build, and for whatever reason people like to build near small rad (split rad) and congregate. We have tried to spread people out more, but if people want to create lag, that's what they are going to do no matter what we say.

Jolly 19 May, 2014 @ 6:47pm
There are a number of things that kind of diminish this server: day/night cycle with so little night is kind of whacked (xp bonus for killing at night is a cool idea but there's so little night); air drops are way too frequent (it's not like it's hard to get stuff on a mostly pve server so having nonstop handouts is overkill); way too many buildings on/at roads/POIs/etc; way too many beggars (seriously...how can you need to beg on a PvE server with numerous kits and airdrops every 10 minutes); admin chat spam is way to frequent (the admin wall of text obliterates chat every few minutes).

I mean, when you can get everything you want or need in a few hours and there isn't much to do excerpt build another eyesore of a huge empty house...there isn't much to it.

Cheers!

Anyone that wants to PVP can PVP any time they want, anywhere... All you have to do is flag PVP for yourself.
Papa_Shot 18 May, 2014 @ 12:35pm
Would you guys consider making a certain zone be always PVP enabled, say hacker valley or something? In order to maybe cater to all types of play?
Screwy Lewy  [author] 17 May, 2014 @ 5:00pm
We dont allow it, and if its happening we need to know
Jolly 17 May, 2014 @ 4:59pm
Cool rules and setup but considering all the rules and stuff it's goofy that you let people build surrounding lootables and build on top of red spawns - both of which are griefing or at least really lame.
