Important Notes
To stay relatively beginner friendly, this guide is focused around the equipment for the Prime Vista 3000... because why would you be reading this if you're already far enough in the game to have the Prime Vista PRO? If you're starting out in the game, try to save up the $2000 to buy this heavy duty washer. BUT, anything stated in this guide applies to all tiers of washers.
Also, this guide is based off my opinions and experience with the game. Argue my points in the comments if you disagree!
White (40°) Nozzle

Arguably the worst nozzle in the game, the White nozzle sacrifices range and power for spread, way more than the Green and Yellow nozzles do. This makes it pretty much useless against hard grime and distant surfaces. BUT, the White nozzle does have a few good uses...

1. "Mowing"
I call this Mowing because it's kind of like mowing the lawn, if you know what I mean.
Basically by crouching, it both moves the nozzle as close to the floor as it can get (increasing impact), and slows your movement so the blast stays on a particular spot for longer. The mix of these two effects turns the White nozzle into a formidable weapon against mid-level grime. This can work on lower sections of walls too. If you like to take it slow, try this out.

2. Removing Surface Level dirt
The only other real use for the White nozzle is to wash surface level grime... which it isn't necessarily the best at. But hey, it works.

Overall, the White nozzle is situational: not useful most of the time.
You're likely better off using the other nozzles.
Green (25°) Nozzle

One of the go-to nozzles to get the job done. Unlike the White nozzle, it takes out easy-mid level grime in regular use, but tends to struggle when put up against rust or oil. The Green nozzle is a solid option for cleaning the majority of surfaces that aren't covered in hard-level grime.

As seen here, the Green nozzle easily takes care of some surfaces by itself. Yes, it may leave a few spots but that can be fixed by going slower, plus you don't have to actually 100% clean a surface to... clean it. Yeah.
Yellow (15°) Nozzle

The other go-to nozzle to get the job done. It has all three crucial components; Range, Power, and Spread. Where the Green nozzle fails is when the Yellow nozzle steps in to give a heavy spray-down. This nozzle is able to obliterate rust and everything below it, but still has trouble against oil.

Although the Yellow nozzle has less spread than the Green nozzle, its superior range and power renders it effective against tough grime and far surfaces.

On the later jobs where tough grime is splattered everywhere,
the Yellow nozzle will be the best choice to get the job done.
Red (0°) Nozzle

The polar opposite of the White nozzle: the Red nozzle sacrifices spread for range and power. Because it has next to no spread, it is grueling washing a whole surface with it. Therefore, it's better to use it for these two purposes...

1. REALLY tough surfaces
All in all, Oil. As it's the toughest grime in the game, only the most powerful nozzle can take out oil (excluding the Soap nozzle... we'll get to that).
(And excluding if you upgrade to the Prime Vista PRO)
(Look, I'm just saying that the red nozzle is good against oil, okay?)

2. Hard-to-reach surfaces
Can't find a dirty spot when a surface is so close to being clean? Spray that Red nozzle in Every. Single. Nook. And. Cranny. That should solve your problem if you do it for long enough.

Similar to the White nozzle, the Red nozzle is situational, but by God is it good at its job:
Dirt annihilation.
Turbo Nozzle

Basically an alt of the Red nozzle that is somehow both better and worse. The Turbo nozzle features a wider spread, but its spinning nature means that it has to be held on a spot for some time in order to fully utilize the spread advantage (see video below), which eliminates the faster Spray and Pray method that the other nozzles can use.

As you can see, trying to Spray and Pray with the Turbo nozzle will only create a modern art representation of ramen noodles. To get the full spread, you have to use it s l o w l y . If you're a speed-washer, the Yellow nozzle will be a better fit for you.

The Turbo nozzle's main advantage over the Red nozzle is when used at a far distance, increasing spread, and when used in conjunction with the Extra Long extension (see sub-section below). This also makes the Turbo nozzle excel at washing thin or small objects such as railings, poles, and hubcaps (especially those covered in rust or oil).

Whether you use the Red nozzle or Turbo nozzle depends on the situation and personal playstyle.

- The effect of Extensions on the Turbo nozzle -

The longer the extension is, the faster the Turbo nozzle spins, minimizing its noodly downside. If you ever use the Turbo nozzle, make sure you switch to the Extra Long extension for maximum efficiency.
Soap (65°) Nozzle

Ever heard of the saying "Jack of all trades, master of none"? Well, the Soap nozzle is a master of all trades. With its huge spread, it excels at destroying any and all types of dirt. Why get all nit-picky with the other nozzles when you can just blast the whole job with the Soap nozzle?

As shown here, the Soap nozzle can even shred oil with next to no struggle!

Despite all of the upsides, there's one killer downside to the Soap nozzle...

It's pay to win.

You have to pay $600 + $10 for each cleaner just to use the thing. "Can you just not use a cleaner?" -No. Without a cleaner, it does next to nothing. Sure, you could finish an entire job with the Soap nozzle, but you'd literally be in debt afterwards.

In Career mode, I advise to not bother getting the Soap nozzle, and to save money for the Prime Vista PRO instead, as the Yellow nozzle on the PRO is practically a universal Soap nozzle. For Freeplay mode though, use the Soap nozzle to your heart's content.
- Honorable Mention -

The Triple Tip nozzle is the only washer exclusive nozzle, belonging to the Prime Vista PRO.
It is by far the best nozzle. It has the range and power of the Red nozzle, but with more than three times the spread. With the Spray and Pray method, this nozzle finishes any and all jobs faster than you can say "PowerWash."

The Triple Tip nozzle is able to clean surfaces both faster and more reliably than even the Yellow nozzle.

**Fair warning: prolonged use of this Spray and Pray method may lead to wrist pain and/or injury. Be cautious and take breaks when you need to.
Short Extension

A very solid extension. The Short extension gives you a decent boost in range, while still being applicable to close surfaces. I find this extension to be very useful when hosing down anything below your eye level, such as floors and lower sections of walls. Whenever you're not using one of the other extensions, you're using the Short extension.
Long Extension

Another solid extension. The Short extension is good for surfaces below eye level, while the Long extension is good for everything ABOVE eye level, such as ceilings and high sections of walls. However, it has the minuscule downside of not being able to be used very close to a surface.

If you're ever too close to a wall, you can just... take off the extension, and use the stubby gun instead for a few seconds.

Make sure to buy both of the Short and Long extensions. They're integral to your PowerWashing kit, as you'll consistently be switching between the two for maximum washing efficiency.
Extra Long Extension

The situational extension. Whenever the Long extension can't reliably reach something is when you use the Extra Long extension. This one's mainly for far surfaces that you can't get near, such as very high walls, or whenever you have to use scaffolding at a fair distance away from whatever needs cleaning.

Because the Extra Long sticks out so much, it's relative spread is almost half of the Long extension's spread. The Extra Long can still be used effectively for regular nearby surfaces, but you'll have to stand a fair distance back. It's useful if you want to minimize mouse movement though.

The Extra Long extension also has its own unique upsides, namely...
1. The faster spin on the Turbo nozzle (check the Turbo Nozzle section).
2. Practically being a necessity for the Mayor's Mansion, where it's given to you for free.
Closure
Overall, use the Yellow and Green nozzles for almost everything, use the Red or Turbo nozzles for rust and oil, and swap between the Short and Long extensions depending on what you're washing.

a mention in the name of the white nozzle thats actually useful is the rv, since its either rust/graffiti or dust your dealing with, the white one can take care of the dust so you can get with the tough stuff with the red quicker

The second gun, at least, lets you do a LOT of the "haunted" house with the white nozzle. You can do the walls, decks, and most of the ceilings/roofs with it, as well as the windows and frames. It was actually kinda nice having a use for it, for once.

Thanks for the rundown on the nozzles and extensions! Just got the game, and I found this really useful!

How do you get triple nozzle for prime vista pro? Can't see it anywhere in shop. Was it removed, or is it some kind of reward for certain activities?

I found a use for the turbo nozzle: sometimes when I couldn't get a good angle on a bit of grime with the 0 degree nozzle, the turbo nozzle could get it because of the spinning action.

Suggested addition to the honorable mention: It will leave streaks if you move it too fast

Personally, I find the short extension on all washers to be a complete waste of money. If I'm far enough away from the surface that the stubby gun isn't reaching well, I'm far enough away to use either the long extension, or the extra-long extension.

The only time I did a full project using the white nozzle was to get one of the accomplishments.

Before the star requirements for the higher level washers were put in, I would skip the Urban washer to buy the PV 3000 as soon as possible (including long extension).

Don't forget that the bonus jobs give you pay as well, and allow you to use a completely equipped specific washer for that job.

I agree that the spray attachments are also a waste of money.
