they eat smaller monsters but honestly, its huge so its old and it proly cant shed its exo that well being all mutated so it most likely could not find a safe spot to shed a humans found it and blew a hole in the ceiling i would guess as light kills them

What killed it? Probably hunger. The metro system doesnt look like it can provide an abundance of food.
