jester is my go-to for chainsplosions, with a curse/projectile heavy build it can easily be extremely devastating to small mobs.
scout and beast are just easy T1-2 units to max, get them early and let them carry you to wave 20 when you can replace them.
at Level 3 this list also shifts alot, with several of the enchanters and other seemingly weak units jumping many ranks. for example fairy is one of the most OP units at level 3 especially if you are running 4 enchanter build.
also i have no idea what sabateur and priest and barager are doing at A tier, they are nice as level 1 early picks but really fall in power against the scaling of late game picks once level 3 skills come into play
+6 chains from Lvl 3 and +4 from Flying Daggers for +10 chain, +20% damage per chain plus +30% damage per chain with Ultimatum. Assassination for x12 damage, + Critical Strike item and Rogue bonus bring this to x18. Combo this with Offensive Stance (+30%), Reinforce (+30%), Ballista (+50%), Squire (+30%) and Flagellant (+12% per cast). Stormweaver deals 20% of the damage to 2 other enemies also. That gives 52*(1.55)^C (chain, 0-10)*18 (crit)*(2.40+.12F (flagellant casts)). Ignoring flagellant, if my math is right, that's ~180k damage, reaching over 200k with 3 flagellant casts. I couldn't find elite HP numbers but I read that normal enemies reach up to 12,725 health, so Scout can easily destroy elites with a good setup, and has a super quick attack speed.
Unlike the other F tier units, fairy is at least situationally useful and will adequately provide healing. It's not a good healer no, and the random buffs are only sometimes useful, but it's not dead weight like a magician is.
