The keyboard controls for this game are quite simple to learn.

W = Accelerate
S = Reverse
A = Turn Left
D = Turn Right
Up = Pitch Up
Down = Pitch Down
Space = Drift
Enter = Use Item

There are a total of 5 items you can use during races;

These 3 can be used at any time:
Cream Pie - Three cream pies that can be thrown forward to temporarily stop another racer.
Shield - Gives the player temporary invulnerability or defense against an obstacle.
Traffic Cone - Three traffic cones that can be laid backwards on the track as an obstacle.

These 2 cannot be used when in first place:
Clock - Slows down other racers.
Rainbow Ride - Temporarily gives the player a significant speed boost and easier vehicle control.

When opening the game for the first time, you will likely be drawn towards the "Play Now!" button at the top of the menu. The maps and tours within this gamemode are simply for practise and casual play; the only achievement you can get here is the "Play Your First Race" achievement, which we can get with our tour achievements.

Instead, open the "Contests in Happy Lands" gamemode. Here, you will be presented with 4 tours, 3 of which are locked. You will notice that there are 3 hollow stars at the top of the screen. The number of stars you get depends on your position at the end of each tour. I believe you only need 1 star to unlock subsequent tours, however you should be able to get 3 stars with ease each time.

Each tour consists of 4 maps. You can choose and customise your characters and vehicles however you please as they do not affect gameplay. The maps are all fairly straightforward circuits. Play through these at your own leisure until the end of the 3rd tour. As the achievements are for unlocking the tours and not playing them, you can skip the 4th tour. If you do choose to play the 4th tour, it is worth noting that the very last course (Chococat's Tropical Island) has a geometry bug which will cause all of the AI to get stuck. It will be a nice, easy win. Be sure to look out for speed pads and rings along the way for a nice boost.

After getting the 4 tour-related achievements, you can move on to Adventure mode. This mode is a series of 20 time trials. To my knowledge, it uses the same maps as the Tournament gamemode, so the courses should be fairly familiar by this point. Simply play through them, and remember that you only need 1 star in each level, not all 3.

Some of the hardest levels in my opinion are the water/cupcake levels. I suggest doing these courses backwards. If you're having trouble with any level, just take your time to learn the best routes and find all the items you need to collect.

At this point, you should have every achievement this game has to offer, except one. For this final achievement, you WILL need a USB controller. First, navigate through the menu to the "2 Players" option. Choose any gamemode and then select a character as you have before. After you've confirmed your character, plug in the controller. Your controller most likely won't be correctly bound to the keys you need. If you're using a PS4 controller as I did, press square to select and confirm your character. If this is not the case on other controllers, you may need to fiddle around. Go through the same process with the vehicles. Once everything is ready, start the race and the achievement should pop immediately. You do not need to actually play the race.
