While what I said about where you should aim still applies, this has been patched and it is significantly easier to pull off.
Introduction
Hello hello hello!

This is my first time playing No more Heroes and my first guide!

I think most of us can agree that "Assassination Gig 04: Baseball Battle" is very annoying since the mechanics of it aren't explain and I just have to gold everything... for some reason and since nobody had a guide on this... I had to do the leg work and figure it out.

This is not sicentific nor can it give you a clear with just one ball but this is how I got gold and I plan to share how I got the gold.

My set up is base don 1080p and 60fps so I'm not sure how this works in frame rates higher than 60.
Let's do this!
OK.... We are at the stadium where we have to play baseball with the lives of humans because this is an assassination mission... killing people is kinda the entire point.



When you stand here you see Travis moves up and down a bit when he's at his lowest point, imagine a line just under that sweet low poly elbow like I drew in the image above or just put your hand on the screen as the line since you need one finger to hit the ball.

When the ball is just about to touch the line (Not when it touched it, or in it, juts before) hit the ball.
This isn't scientific but when I did this I usually hit 3+ people per hit.
In case of a miss do this.
Well if you are like me and usually don't pay much attention you might end up missing a ball.

If you even have a single hit the mission will be successful so... just try your best?

If you hadn't had a single hit than stop even trying since I said this guide increases your chance not 100%.


If you don't hit anyone you get the image above but this is actually a good thing! because the game just tosses back out in as you can see in the image below.


This removes the need to go back and re accept the mission an you can start of with 3 balls again.
If you fail...
Well.. I don't have a fast way to get to the mission and nobody in Grass Hopper thought about adding a retry button but I do have a way to get back to where you get the mission quicker since going back and forth is the most annoying part of these retries.



Since we are a failure, we must look at the lands in North to look for some hope.
As you can see in the poorly edited image above, face north once you failed to get the gold medal and go to the first street on the right.



Turn left when you rich the conjunction like I marked in the image above.



See the field in the image above? Drive into it and just keep driving stright off the cliff. After Travises scream you will be teleported back to the parking in front of your home (Travis's home not your actual home) which is like a block away from the mission location which is way shorted than driving back there.

Congratualtions, after some try and error and ignoring my spelling mistakes you finally got that shiny gold medal.



But for reals, this is how I got gold in this mission and I hop this helps you get a gold in Assassination Gig 04: Baseball Battle and I hope this helped you get the gold with less headechs and maybe help creating more acurrate guides.

This got patched recently to be much easier to perform, I was having difficulty with its timing, it felt nearly impossible to get a perfect hit.

Right.... just to show HOW FRUSTRATED I am with this minigame....

this guide helps for sure.
but you can get the first hit for free with a guaranteed 4 people hit

this minigame always throws up a dialogue before the start,... open steam input go to the settings for the A button and turn on Hold to repeat (Turbo) and set the repeat rate to 407

once that's set, go back to the game where you left it on the dialogue then just hold the A button to close that dialouge and KEEP holding it!

Travis will proceed to swing his saber 3 times and on the 3rd swing this will connect and mow down 4 people (the maximum for one swing)...

the next 2 swings... GOOD LUCK!


yes I have spent a full 2 hours trying to find the perfect timing

Travis's saber only connects between 405 and 412 and I personally find this tiny little window INSANE!

If it's the base ball then yes but I couldn't replicate this on the second baseball gig hence I didn't update or change this. The port is god awful and that's probably why this gig is broken because originally it needed motion controls that don't exactly exist on PC.

Yeah my bad, Grass Hopper is not at fault, but the porting company is... Also thanks for the tip about compatibility mode for NMH2! :)

Well not the devs cause porting wasn't done by Grass Hopper, it was Engine Software who did the port and they are progressivly getting worse at doing it with each Grass Hopper game. Also if you have trouble with crashes in NMH2 I have a guide for that too and if you don't want to go there... Well I just say it here. Run it in Windows 7 compatibility mode... for some reason a game that was ported to windows 10 in 2021 needs Windows 7 compatibility.
