HOW TO UP YOUR GAME!
By Im Playing On a Macbook
You are probably tired of seeing a crummy basic silver icon as your rank, it just does not look as cool. All of your friends are not very impressed that you are about the lowest ranked player in the game. Surely there is some way you can turn to up your game. Well here are a few tips to up your game and having a tactical knowledge to compete with other players to climb the ranks.

1. Crossair Placement:
Playing maps you are most familiar with is where you can really put this to use. Before you peak corners, keep in mind all of the angles that the opposing player could see you from. Take it slow and peak as little as possible until you have seen where your enemy is. Line up your shot before you peak as close as you can to where that angle is. Then quickly peak and blast them!

2. Use Utility:
There are plenty of small tutorials on YouTube on every map on some smart places to throw your smokes, flashbangs, and incendiary grenades for a strategic advantage. Taking a quick 5 minutes to look one of those videos over before choosing a map to play on can be a good learning tool in becoming a Global Offensive beast. Also, even if you do not know these specific ways, you can always just toss out some utility in hopes of it doing its job, or to be a distraction at the very least.

3. Communication:
Now this one could be a little tough if you join a game by yourself. You never know if your team will have a microphone to be able to speak up where they died from to show you one of the enemies may be. If your team does have microphones, or if you have one, a very helpful hand is knowing your callouts, (what certain parts of the map are called) if you do not know, on the top of the screen every sector of the map has a name displayed. Making a callout can give your team or if your team makes them to you an upper hand at knowing where the enemy has been or where they could possibly be going. However, if your team or you do not have a microphone there are also other forms of communication that is available to you such as the Mini Map on the top left corner of your screen. When a team member or an enemy dies there will be an "X" on it showing you that there is action going on in that part of the map. If an enemy shoots their gun or is seen on your screen and you did not quite catch it, you can peak at the map on the screen to see a red question mark and know that someone is in that area so you should keep your eye out there while you carry on the mission of either diffusing or planting the bomb!

4. Tap, Don't Spray:
Chances are that if you are new at the game, you will not be very familiar with the spray control patterns and how to get your gun to shoot straight. This game is not like Call of Duty where if you are clearly on him and hold down the shoot button that enemy will get demolished. In this game there is a sporadic yet repetitive pattern as to how your gun bounces when you spray. In this case, with certain guns if you do not know how to control that patter quite yet, you will want to just aim for the enemy's head and tap the shoot button rather than hold it down. Other guns, more specifically the Ak47 can be benefited by a quick burst of two to three bullets but then stopping and giving it another tap or burst at the head. This can assure a little more accuracy as to where your bullets are going.

5. Stand Still While Shooting:
Again, this is not Call of Duty, you cannot just run and gun it. Your bullets will fly in very unpredictable directions. You will obtain more accuracy by standing as still as possible, aiming for the head, and taking your shot. Use this along with the tip mentioned above where you should peak as little as possible rather than running out in the open as an easy target.

6. Game Sense:
Game sense is a skill and a talent that can be worked on throughout the time of playing the game. Not every one has common sense as to how you should attack certain scenarios but it can surely be improved. Using all of these tips above can add up to game sense. Acknowledge where your enemy is at and quickly make a game plan as to where you are going to make your route of entry. Quick thinking can get you or even your teamates out of some sticky situations and ultimately win the game.

Some of these skills need to be worked on, you can do that by playing a non-competitive mode as practice if you do not quite want to put your rank at risk. Overall, these things can be your backbone to becoming a better player to climb the ranks.

Have fun learning!
