Description

DCS version 2.5.2.20601 was released to open beta almost a week ago. It introduced new modes for the AIM-7 and also added the AIM-7MH.

The loft mode with the AIM-7M seems to display correctly but the missile does not perform the loft maneuver. Today, I try out the AIM-7MH and check out it's loft performance.

This is the same set up as the AIM-7M video, just with MH variants. This missile definitely performs a clearly defined loft maneuver. One disappointment so far is the unexpected and uncommanded hop the radar did during my first shot.

I was under the impression that this was fixed. I had not seen this behavior in a while. There is no telling if my first shot would have hit or not because the hop happened pretty close to the terminal phase of the first launch (about 12 seconds to go). I was unsure I'd be able to reacquire my first target fast enough and if the missile even had enough energy to change its trajectory after going towards the second aircraft which the radar hopped to.

I was forced to fire another AIM-7MH and that finds the target with no problem. The third shot brings down the second bandit also with ease.
