I. Intro.

INTRO

I'm writting this mod guide in hopes that people are satisfied with the game itself and are just looking to customize their game to surround a more personal liking, obviously this is being written with the intention that the copyright of the content is respected and that by using this you acknowledge that all of the content you get through the guide is used specifically for personal or non profitable use!, i also do not take any responsability in any sort of damage that occurs with this guide.

Things to be learnt through this guide:

  • How to Select the content you're trying to skin.
  • Skinning Said content.
  • Using your content in-game and also being able to share it so that others may use it.

So given you read this, or not. Lets get started..
II. Getting Started.
Getting Started.

Hey there guys first of all we will need to download a program called Texmod, what it does is it opens the program and obtains the texture files from whatever object you like.

I've uploaded the file to my personal media fire account to facilitate the tutorial.
Texmod 1.0b[www.mediafire.com]

Step 1.

After downloading the program we need to Throw it into our B&C folder in steamapps.
Step 2.

We will need to change the name from the bnc executable to anything easy to use, in my case i renamed it "bncsteam", you need to do the same on the data folder so it looks like "bncsteam_Data".

Step3.

Take the texmod file and rename it to the original name of the B&C game exe, so our texmod will now be called "bnc.exe", this is done so that when we launch B&C through steam it will launch texmod its to facilitate things.

Just to be clear our game folder will now look something like this picture, Please ignore the out folder we will go into it later.

here is a table to show.

Name
What is it?
bncsteam_Data
Our BNC data folder
bnc.exe
renamed texmod.exe
bncsteam.exe
Our BNC original .exe which we renamed.
III Obtaining the textures
III Obtaining the textures

Ok, bare with me for a couple more minutes it is very simple from now on after we've set up the folders and executables all we are missing is to obtain the textures to paint.

Step 1.

Launch B&C on steam it will open up texmod.

Step 2.
We are clicking on the top left the folder looking image and we are opening "Browse".
We are going to select our original B&C exe which is now named "bncsteam"

Step 3.
Then we are clicking on where it says "Logging mode" and we are changing our output file format to JPEG, Also take note of where is the output folder located, it should be in the same folder of B&C and it should create a folder called "Out"(its where the images will go).

Step 4.

After we've done that we will press the button "Run" and our game will then launch!.
best way of knowing that everything we did is right its checking on the top left and seeing the information from texmod.
After this we will go to our squad screen.

Step 5.

We can only obtain textures from whatever is on our screen so we equip the item we want to modify and we follow the instructions of using "+"and "-" keys to search for the skin we want to mod, the program will let us know when we've come across our skin by setting it to bright green, when it does we hit "ENTER" this will save it to the out folder.
IV Editing & Finishing.
IV Editing & finishing.

Step 1.

Finally all we need to do now is use our image editing software to mod our texture to whatever we want for this tutorial i am going to use photoshop of course you must know how to use these softwares.
.

Step 2.
After editing our file save it and overwritte the one we got from texmod.

Step 3.
Open texmod and click the tab that says "Package Build"

Type in the info you want in the comment section, and name, be sure that the definition file selected is the "TexMod.log" (this file contains the address information of the pictures we grabbed)

Proceed to writte a name that best suits your creation as the .tpf (This is the format that contains whatever we replaced it can be sent and people can load it quickly..
Step 4.

The last and final step is to load the file we just made in texmod, We open up texmod and go into "package mode" and then loading the .tpf file into it,
NOTE: you can have several different packages as long as they dont replace the same file, Example you can replace the black uniform and a the shirt & jeans, because they dont overwritte each other.

After loading the file in the list just clikc "Run" and you should see the changes you made!. Now please take note sometimes there are bugs that the texture appears on the screen, just restart the mission and it will be fine!.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Thank you for a wonderful game Gun Media, i hope you take some of the ideas that people release and actually use it for your own, its your creation in the end!.

I can say it is a false positive it is probably cause texmod injects into games as dll, if you dont trust it please google and find a texmod that you wouldnt mind downloading from! i guarantee you itll work bro take care.
