""Delicate Pastel" - 2019 - Elliot Gibson

In this artwork Elliot uses narrow white strips of colour to accent his long flowing forms, combining them with a soft pastel pink background. This combination inspires a certain delicacy to the tall slim body of his sculpture, in contrast to the rough tooling of the transparent fin on the side of the piece. The contrast between the fin and the pink body of the work draws the viewer to look more closely at the artwork and observe the intricacies of the glass-sculpture, which is often unseen from a distance, it is this engagement and act of looking closely, that he wants the viewers of his work to contemplate.
