What? Chess in rivals!?

This playable Chesspiece has a bunch of chess-related mechanics to aid in fighting, utilising different pieces for attacks.

Piece Switching
Different attacks will change your current piece, affecting movement and weight stats.

• Pawn: Small, lightweight.
  
• Bishop: Has longer roll/airdodge/waveland stats.
  
• Knight: Low friction, can triple jump.
  
• Rook: High ground speed, special accelerating walk speed, low jump height, heavier than normal.
  
• King: Heavy, but slow.
  
• Queen: All-round slightly overtuned stats, but form hard to achieve.

Spawned Pieces
Strong attacks will spawn an additional piece on the stage. This piece can be knocked around with any hitbox. Each piece has their own HP (value equal to the piece value in chess), which decreases every time they are hit. Once the piece HP equals 0, the piece will self destruct, creating an explosion.


Nspecial
Nspecial will switch your position with your spawned piece. Your piece type will also switch with the piece type of the spawned piece. Using Nspecial on the ground is lagless, but using it in the air will put you into some extended pratland, so be careful if you use this to recover.


Fspecial and Dspecial
Each piece has their own unique Fspecial and Dspecial. These 2 moves are the same, but Fspecial causes your own character to perform the move, while Dspecial causes your spawned piece to perform the move instead.

• Pawn: Needs to fill up a pawn meter by performing pawn attacks (dtilt, bair, fstrong, ustrong, pawn jab and nair). Once filled, can transform into a queen.
  
  
• Knight: gun.
  
• Bishop: Creates an expanding radius, opponents inside the radius will become targeted. if special is pressed again, Bishop will become a missile, flying towards the target and exploding.
  
• Rook: Turns into a cannon, can be aimed by holding left or right. Press special to fire a shot in an arc, creates a multihit explosion when it hits the ground or an opponent.
  
• King: Gains temporary armour, while decreasing movement speed and removing access to defensive options and double jump.
  
• Queen: Gains PM Ivysaur solarbeam, transforms back to pawn once used.

Queen form
While in queen form, you gain access to queen dtilt and bair, replacing their pawn variants, as well as solarbeam queen F/Dspecial. You can still use other piece attacks while in queen form, but being in queen piece form will decrease your queen form meter, once that hits zero you will lose queen form.


Uspecial
Uspecial is a short dash that changes depending on your current piece. The directions you travel correspond to the directions the chesspiece would travel in chess. Except for the knight, instead of an L-shape, the knight gets 2 uses of Uspecial instead.
