Chapter #1

Hey. I've been playing For Honor for years and there's no surprise that a game as competitive as it is will not make you angry. I would define myself as a neutral guy with no apparent anger issues but the game does get me pressed sometimes. Over the course of my playtime I became very attached and consumed by the game that losing would be a huge deal to me, more on that below.

Who you are as a person can heavily impact the way the game makes you feel as a lot of us have different emotional traits, some have the inability to get mad while others are the opposite. This is a one of a kind game and there's nothing quite like it, and that alone might be a factor that pulls you to play it. However the fact that the game has notable flaws means that a person with anger issues wouldn't be enjoying it often since you're investing time into playing a mediocre game. A poor investment like that would leave you dissatisfied so try the game out on sale and see if it suits you personally.

Chapter #2

The first step to solving an issue is understanding it. You must know it, if it means digging the roots and getting into the very fine details. Keep in mind that you are playing a flawed game so things might not happen as you expected, or you couldn't enjoy a certain character because they were just awful to play as etc.

I made a list of the obvious flaws as part of the understanding phase to pin point on issues and their workarounds.
Balance issues
- The game has apparent balance issues that make other heroes hard to play as at high ranks. What you can do is simply learn another hero or master your craft which usually takes tons of time and dedication. Of course a lazy-bones like me would think you're insane but its up to you. Update: A bunch of heroes got reworked and there are more on the way making this less of a concern.
Community and QoL
- The community has to be pointed out as they can heavily impact the experience you have in game whether it's toxicity or griefing. For that you can turn the chat off but you won't be able to communicate with team members. If you play with the chat on just sit back and watch the show happen midway through a Dominion match, it's kinda fun actually. The trolls in this game will do anything to get a reaction from you, if they got that, they win.
Chapter #3

This game is intense and involving which gives it a competitive nature. You'll be in situations where you're at the edge of your seat fighting as you await the victory screen, but in this game losing just hits harder than others. It could be the emote spam or the "ez's" but one can simply overcome this and immediately start enjoying the game more.

The golden mindset my friend is the art of simply not giving a ♥♥♥♥. Detach yourself from your horrible teammates, play the hero you enjoy and suck at them and play the game for your own sake. This isn't easy to do of course and this won't apply if you're a professional player, but as a casual player it doesn't matter if you win or lose because nothing's at stake. The XP difference between winning and losing is SO minimal it's hard to notice and you won't be winning all the time, so why get angry? You don't lose anything when you lose. You let it get to you because you let the ungraspable construct of defeat affect you. If you are unable to do this then you won't enjoy this game, as simple as that. Getting light-spammed to death and absolutely pissed on? Head to the training area and channel that negative energy into useful energy so you can come back ready and prepared.

Conclusion
1.5K hours and counting all because I play for fun, not for winning. This may differ with people but it's worth putting to practice. I am not burned out or bored because a game's sole purpose is to be fun, and if its not that then why bother? I hope you people found this inciteful and i'd enjoy to hear your opinions, thanks.

P.S. It is important you take a break as soon as you feel mad and get some sunlight!

Not gonna lie, had a lot of fun with for honor after 300+ hours. I love this game, and I hate to see that a post like this has to be made. Along with the overall negativity in the comments.
But, like you've said again and again. It's a competitive game, and I think a bit of healthy aggression/banter is fun in stride.

tldr; for honor fun, thank u for the post, and I hope the 4honor community heals from their "league of legends" level scarring ig.
